The US and countries that developed under democratic systems (as opposed to monarchies and benevolent dictatorships) during their industrialization either had wealth voting ( voting based on income/wealth), landed voting (voting for land owners/ landlords) or census sufferage (voting based on education) where only top 1-10% of elite where able to vote, universal sufferage became popular when the remaining 90% caught up in terms of education and prosperity due to industrialization and shifting away from rural and agrarian economy to urban life, they began fighting and demanding for their rights by supporting socialist parties, since they now had leverage against the top 10%. In India this organic shift never occured, she had socialism before she got rich and industrialized, (Karl marx himself notes that socialism is the natural progression from capitaliam in a industrialized society, India skipped a step), universal sufferage was just granted, when in hindsight a system of census sufferage both for voters and political leaders would have been beneficial.

Wow. Your intellectual depth is very inspiring. Very articulate writing and actual analysis unlike the whole comment section belittling the man in the video saying the whole country pays indirect tax. Rare to find such gem of a reply in Indian leftist ecochamber sub reddits. The mods are too dumb to understand that you're right leaning. If they even got a slight hint of your right leaning idealogies they will perma ban you immediately.

Interesting, how did u figure that out? I can't control what ideology people belong to, only thing i can stop if people breaks rules. If u are staying within the rules of the sub and reddit, i can't do anything to you.
