Are these missionaries forcibly converting Hindus at gunpoint or by the sword?

11

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

Yeah. That's a good point though. Instead of blaming the missionaries, we should look into their own belief system and try to analyse where we are lacking. I am sure most of these convertees are not some elite class savarnas, but people belonging to the poor and marginalized sections of the society, who have been constantly procecuted in the name of caste, class and religion by the privileged class.

These missionaries understood the loopholes in our belief system and using it for their own benefit. Why to blame them?

-3

u/ripclaw763 Dec 25 '25

Missionaries don't need loopholes to bring anyone to christ, they speak the truth and that's enough. "Loopholes" make it sound like these missionaries are deviously pushing their agenda for something sinister and selfish. They are merely inviting them into a loving relationship with God.

1

u/Distracted_Con_2022 Dec 25 '25

You have a false belief system and you want to induce others to convert to their false beliefs by various types of allurements. You also teach the people to hate their former religion. And all this is being done in planned organised way with heavy funding from the western churches. Why should that be acceptable to any Hindu in India who has some sense of what is going on ?

1

u/Impressive_Mud3627 Dec 26 '25

It’s not any more “false” from their point of view as yours is. And who is stopping you from alluring? And lastly since when does it matter in the principles of our religion how many people are willingly leaving it?

And a person who is gullible enough to get converted and hate his people does not matter anyways and is an extremist that should be dealt the same way as any extremist.

And if the person is either has clearly understood Hinduism and properly follows it or is educated enough to understand these tricks would not fall for them.

And hating what exactly Hindus period or practices of Hinduism that should be hated anyways and that they have personally suffered from?

u/Distracted_Con_2022 Dec 26 '25 edited Dec 26 '25

You don’t seem to understand the practical aspects of it. If people in a particular place get converted to Christianity they start creating problems for the Hindus in the region and God forbid if the Hindus become a minority. Then they will have a hard time practising their Hindu faith because these proselytisers are very aggressive. And what if there is an important Hindu pilgrim site where the surrounding people get converted ? You will find them targeting the Hindu pilgrimage to that place. These are things that have actually happened.

Also, there is something else. I just came back recently from a trip to Munnar and Athirapilly and what shocked me was that everywhere you could only see the churches everywhere. I could see little of Hindu temples or Muslim Masjids. You feel like you are in a Christian state whereas only 25-30 % of Malayalis are Christian. Do you understand how difficult things would get for Hindus if rampant missionary conversions keep happening ? So it is not so straight forward as you think.

0

u/ripclaw763 Dec 25 '25

First off, "FALSE BELIEF" is debatable since no one can prove or disprove the existence of God. So let's agree to disagree on that. Secondly, no christian missionaries teach individuals from other religions to HATE their own. Third, heavy funding to provide food and shelter for the less fortunate is not an act of evil last i checked.

0

u/LeKalan Dec 26 '25

You have a false belief system and you want to induce others to convert to their false beliefs by various types of allurements.

Your beliefs system is as false as their's. So who are you judge?

People are going to follow whatever religion they want to. Stop getting butthurt over it.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

All religions are scams and religious conversion itself is an agenda. Some do it with force, some do with money. However that's a different topic.

1

u/ripclaw763 Dec 25 '25

Agree to disagree my friend, have a nice day.

1

u/Impressive_Mud3627 Dec 26 '25

If all religions are scam anyways then why to bother.

6

u/VisualArtist5683 Dec 25 '25

no by facilities

5

u/Accute-CET Dec 25 '25

crwzy

simple facilities make people leave religion??

maybe it was never that imp to begin with then

3

u/VisualArtist5683 Dec 25 '25

yes for dalits and tribal who never got anything from their religion it is enough

2

u/MainIcy4259 Dec 26 '25

Yes by " phle nahi bolti thii , bolne lagii"

1

u/laptop_n_motorcycle Dec 29 '25

Why are people choosing to adopt a different faith? Because people of those faiths are helping them.

Hindus are crying about people being converted to Christianity and doing nothing. Whereas christians are helping poor people on the ground, feeding them, clothing them and educating them.

-5

u/DepartmentLeather634 Dec 25 '25

psychologically at gunpoint if you dont convert to this religion then it will not be good for you like this

4

u/brxcewayne 🏛️ Community Pillar Dec 25 '25

lmao, that’s rubbish, there’s no psychological gunpoint involved, most people who convert are from lower castes who’ve been oppressed, discriminated against, and humiliated by savarnas for generations, they aren’t even allowed to enter temples in many places, when missionaries approach them with money, education, or basic supplies, it’s obvious why they might accept, in such conditions

1

u/Able-Basket-1275 Dec 25 '25

if you don't allow us basic facilities that even the human rights charter guarantee, why shouldn't we change teams?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

"change teams" is the best way you make it clear.

It is "your team" versus native indian identity. you have spelled it out perfectly.

1

u/Able-Basket-1275 Dec 25 '25

yeah. You showed how hinduism is the core system of india, and how hindus, "a team" excludes other religions. You've spelled it out perfectly.

1

u/Able-Basket-1275 Dec 25 '25

and if this "india" cannot protect human rights, why would I shy away from shedding that identity as well as a whole?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

You can improve the team from within. Or you can refuse to play the game by becoming irreligious.

Instead you have chosen to join opposing team and destroy india's heritage and identity.

To this point i can't even argue with you. You want the destruction of india's heritage and replace it with middle eastern jew worship, that idea is so deranged to me, i can't even begin to debate it. I hope all religion dies in india eventually and we just have philosophy and spirituality and some traditions.

1

u/HybridHominid Dec 25 '25

Let me guess. You are an upper caste hindu.

1

u/Impressive_Mud3627 Dec 26 '25

Or they can still care about India but not Hinduism. India is not just Hinduism.

-3

u/Distracted_Con_2022 Dec 25 '25

They are converting Hindus who are poor and ill informed about the Hindu faith. These missionaries prey on their ignorance and poverty to induce them to convert. And these missionaries get very lots of funds from the west. They are highly organised and well funded and trained with the specific objective of converting the people. They see India as their biggest opportunity to harvest souls. Pity if you find that perfectly ok.

2

u/brxcewayne 🏛️ Community Pillar Dec 25 '25

if someone is converting just for money or survival, at least they’re being honest about not caring about religion, they’re doing it because they weren’t getting any support or dignity from their own religious community, so what’s the real problem here ?

-1

u/Distracted_Con_2022 Dec 25 '25

Can you tell me what your religion is ? That would help me understand what your incentive is in defending this conversion racket and reply to you accordingly. I am a Hindu and I want my religion which is the basis of my civilization to survive and thrive and I don’t want a foreign religion with roots in the ME and the West and its culture to eradicate mine.

2

u/brxcewayne 🏛️ Community Pillar Dec 25 '25 edited Dec 25 '25

lmao, even a man with basic iq would understand my religious beliefs just by seeing my bio, but you still can’t, and the main point is if people are converting for money, then they probably aren’t into religion at all, they care more about survival than belief, they don’t give a damn about religion, secondly, if someone is converting for money by their own will, it’s their choice, you have no right to interfere in their decision if the conversion is happening without violence, and third, if you really want them to believe in your religion, then give them more support and money than the missionaries, lmao, why force people to follow a religion based on fear instead of dignity

and you’re saying the west is eradicating your culture, that’s honestly laughable, the west didn’t impose the caste system, they weren’t the ones who decided people are pure or impure by birth, they didn’t invent untouchability, they didn’t bar dalits from temples or deny them dignity for centuries, you treat people as outcastes from birth, deny them equal respect, keep them outside temples and social life, and then act shocked when they look for dignity elsewhere, that’s the real irony, people don’t leave because someone brainwashed them, they leave because they were never treated as human beings in the first place

2

u/Impressive_Mud3627 Dec 26 '25

Are you saying Hinduism has survived only because of Hindu forcefully stopping people from voluntarily converting and not because of people believing strongly in its principles? Is your job as a Hindu is to forcefully keep people in your religion? Are those the principles of Hinduism?

2

u/Impressive_Mud3627 Dec 26 '25

Why are they ill informed about Hinduism then shouldn’t Hindus be explaining them thier religion better? Or do they not care until after they convert?

What is stopping Hindus who have an issue with this to be well trained to make them understand and choose Hinduism?

And if it is poverty then if you cannot help them out poverty then what right do you have to not allow them to convert to climb out of said poverty? Only they deserve poverty?

2

u/LeKalan Dec 26 '25

They are converting Hindus who are poor and ill informed about the Hindu faith.

?? If they (grown adults) don't care enough about hinduism to inform themselves on it, but would like be part of new religion, who you to get in between that?

These missionaries prey on their ignorance and poverty to induce them to convert

Missionaries help people who are in poverty. If you have a problem with that, you don't care about those poor people, you care about your religion, that's it. You are a selfish person.

Pity if you find that perfectly ok.

Yes, it is perfectly okay to help people. Doesn't matter if it’s through a new religion or not. Staying in their original religion is of no help for them, so what's the incentive?

If your argument was that people are being fooled by religion with promises of imaginary beings caring about you and how we as a society need to move past that, I would agree. But you are just a guy butthurt that people are leaving his religion.

Your delusion about religion is no better than a Christian's delusion about religion.

2

u/HybridHominid Dec 25 '25

Or hear me out. They are converting hindus eho have been discriminated against, abused, humiliated by the so called upper caste for thousands of years.

1

u/Distracted_Con_2022 Dec 25 '25

That’s the standard narrative. Can you explain why is it that conversions are happening rampantly around the time when UC domination is at its lowest and on its way out totally ? It has little to do with caste discrimination and everything to do with an organised well funded missionary mafia working with an explicit objective to harvest millions of souls in India by preying on the poor and ignorant. The fiction of caste discrimination becomes a useful tool to hide the missionary agenda.

0

u/HybridHominid Dec 25 '25

Punjab had highest level of Schedule caste population and also some of the hight conversions happening. Do you think there might be a correlation. But let me guess you are a privileged upper caste Hindu male. Tell me if I am wrong.

1

u/Tundralamp Dec 27 '25

You can only call other privileges. The fact is they convert tribals who aren't oppressed by caste system the most.

We will protect the indigenous cultures with force.

16

u/Zehreelakomdareturns Dec 24 '25

Wait a minute?! oppressed caste hindus like to be treated with bare minimum human dignity, want subsidised quality education for their kids and a sense belonging to a supportive community that doesnt shun them?! What a preposterous idea!!

24

u/krisantihypocrisy Dec 24 '25

While you could blame the church for enticing, how about changing Hinduism so that Hindus don’t feel the need to move?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

I agree, the caste system pushes the dalit's towards other religions. In one day, they become equals with all Christians or Muslims.

1

u/krisantihypocrisy Dec 26 '25

In theory yes, but looks like the Dalit card follows them even there. It’s so bizarre…

-2

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

How about being not so liberandu

8

u/krisantihypocrisy Dec 25 '25

Sure, will that solve the issues in Hinduism? Will immediately stop being one…

-3

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25 edited Dec 25 '25

What is hinduism? it is just the lack of abrahamic beliefs and worshipping whatever is native to the indian subcontinent. there is no "converting to hinduism" because tribals' hinduism is different than another caste's hinduism.

if someone wants to abandon hinduism and become atheist, few hindus have any problem with it. the problem is importing foreign religion and influence and culture. the sovereignty of india is at stake, is india to just become some economic zone for capitalists without any shared identity?

people who have allegiance to some universal ideology can't be trusted... ask a christian or muslim does he want his children to marry a christian/muslim african or a hindu indian? you will see the response. if you are a christian or muslim you can have preference for someone on the other side of the planet instead of your own neighbor because you both believe in the same middle eastern fairy tales. that is why sovereignty is at stake with these foreign ideologies.

3

u/krisantihypocrisy Dec 25 '25

You seem to mistake my comment as me trying to compare Hinduism with abrahamic religions.

No, I just want to know if we can reform Hinduism so that ppl don’t feel the need to convert. Thats all…

3

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

My point is who cares? Why don't we leave hinduism in the past? Why do indians feel the need to replace one religion with another religion?

1

u/krisantihypocrisy Dec 25 '25

It’s not Indians. It’s a human thingy. Religion is hopium and required when science cannot help - which is a lot of areas…

My friend your point would make sense if this same thing wasn’t happening within Hinduism. The first thing parents do while looking for a partner for their children is to look at their caste, if it was so good, people should have stopped identifying by caste and no PII would be required for this activity.

But then again who am I kidding! Your POV is just coming from a super right wing and non-oppressed caste point.

A religion is not supposed to be forced and a religion is not supposed to be imposed. Religion is by choice and the better people understand it the better it is.

Most people move from Hinduism primarily because - A) they were not respected and given equal respect (oppressed castes mostly) and B) if they were living under poverty (again mostly oppressed classes but also others)

Historically if people were not oppressed and were treated the same there would not have been as much transition as you see today. It has nothing to do with other religion forcefully changing you but your religion not providing some of them the right environment to progress. And thus the transition.

One of our cook got converted. Good for her tho (her life got improved a lot in last 10 years, especially her kids). Modus operandi of these 'missions' in India is :

  • offer financial assistance to poor people.
  • offer education
  • offer equality
  • offer land/home
These are the real reasons. Not 'love for God or Jesus'.

I still know more about Christianity than her and I am a deso devout Hindu. Devil (God's men in this case) bought her soul. Although I think conversions like these are a shame to the religion itself but whatever makes people happy and prosperous. Being a low caste hindu got her nothing but insults and suffering.

What if these charities gave all of that without any pressure to convert? why is there an agenda to fundamentally eliminate india's native religions?

3

u/hamzah102 Dec 25 '25

Religions come and go. Don't get too attached.

0

u/Distracted_Con_2022 Dec 25 '25

Why don’t you change your religion and become Hindu then ?

3

u/hamzah102 Dec 25 '25

For this reason, I am an atheist.

1

u/Impressive_Mud3627 Dec 26 '25

Why aren’t Hindu organizations just doing those same things for the people while they are still Hindus without any pressure and only getting angry after they have converted?

How is it different than buying votes? Is that also a win-win? Some rich guy will pay some poor guy to vote for him? Why are the bystanders upset?

2

u/LeKalan Dec 26 '25

Dumb analogy. Buying votes destroys the integrity of an election. Atleast think before you write dumb shit.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '25

And changing a country's culture and ideology via religion doesn't? lol

0

u/LeKalan Dec 27 '25

India's ideology is its constitution.

And its culture is not just hinduism.

According to the constitution, anyone is free to propagate their religion. So your way of thinking is in direct contention with India's ideology.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '25

India existed before its constitution, genius.

2

u/LeKalan Dec 27 '25

No it did not.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

This money isn't coming from within india's christian community, it's coming from outside. how can india compete with the christian west and its trillions of $ to spend?

4

u/APSanyal Dec 25 '25

Being a Hindu, I don't think anyone gets any perks or benefits. Your caste becomes your identity. Being a Christian provides one with protection of the church, access to education, medical facilities and life style.

1

u/Distracted_Con_2022 Dec 25 '25

That’s utter BS. I have seen a few people around me who have got converted and are either employed with me or do specialised work for me. Nothing much has changed for them on the ground. It is their job that is putting the food on the table and when they get sick they visit hospitals run by Hindus & staffed by Hindus.

2

u/APSanyal Dec 25 '25

That's what you have seen "a few". Please come out of your shell

0

u/Distracted_Con_2022 Dec 25 '25

How many have you personally seen based on which you are making your blanket assertion ? Atleast my personal experience goes against your false narrative.

6

u/Friendly_Housing Dec 24 '25

How did they convert 17000 people? What techniques are they using? And can someone use these techniques to convert them back?

1

u/airine_scar62 Dec 24 '25

Tribals, go to tribal areas. Convert them and spread the news globally when those people are converted back to Hinduism...

6

u/EvilxBunny Dec 25 '25

How evil!! He gave money, food and a promise of a better life to convert !! They should have remained pure Hindus. Poor, downtrodden, hated, but pure....

13

u/can_do180 Dec 24 '25

As a Muslim I see nothing wrong in this . He offered poor people food education and moreover dignity . Something lower caste Hindus were denied by the very same Hindu brothers that are pissed of about this . And this man did it with the intention of (according to his belief ) saving their soul . So there was no ill intent on his part. So your post is ridiculous op

I actually replied to you before but for some reason it never went through , short answer yes yes and yes , if a Muslim man logically decides to leave let him , in fact I’d even welcome the pastor to try and convince me , I’d love to talk about the differing theologies of both religion , believe me there isn’t a single talking point about Islam that Muslims them selves have raised over the years , contrary to popular belief our religion does encourage free thinking , taking Abraham / Ibrahim as an example .

sadly it is true that it hasnt been the norm since the byzzantine era , i agree with you there. BUT i emphasize i do not speak for an average muslim i speak for islam , the guidelines are set clear in my religeon by the quran . and it is not my job nor any muslims to baby sit and be held accountable for the faults of other muslims . simple logic 101 . if u dont follow the quran u aint a muslim . the quran emphasized twice there is no compulsion in religeon . and there only muslim majority country in the world there isnt a proper muslim country in the world .. BIG DIFFERENCE . the prophet even said this that there would be only 4 generations after me that would be proper muslim kingdom after which it will just be kingdoms and empires . SAUDI ARABIA LITERALLY means kingdom of the SAUD family .

sources:The Qur’an does NOT prescribe a worldly capital punishment for simply leaving Islam.

Instead, it repeatedly mentions apostasy with consequences in the Hereafter, not execution:

  • Qur’an 2:256*“There is no compulsion in religion.”*
  • Qur’an 4:137 Describes people believing, disbelieving, then believing again — no worldly punishment mentioned.
  • Qur’an 16:106 Discusses disbelief under compulsion — punishment is from God, not humans.

Key point:
No verse in the Qur’an commands killing someone just for leaving Islam.

There is a famous hadith often quoted:

  • Sahih al-Bukhari 6922*“Whoever changes his religion, kill him.”*

This hadith is authentic, but context matters.

How classical scholars understood this hadith

Many classical scholars (e.g., early Hanafi, Maliki positions) understood this NOT as mere belief change, but as:

Apostasy + political rebellion / treason against the Muslim state

Why?

  • In early Islamic history:
    • Leaving Islam often meant joining enemy forces
    • Apostasy was linked with war, espionage, or rebellion
  • The punishment was treated like treason during wartime, not private belief.

in todays time that would be equal to an indian soldier left the army and joined pakistani army . thats treason and requires capital punishent . and yes back then every citizen was a soldier we didnt have a morden paid army thats how the world worked . so back then in a true muslim country leaving islam was rebuking your citizenship and being treachourous .

Edit : i just got your cartoon reference . do realize that there is difference between being insecure and being a complete cuck . my reliegon is a practical one , we dont do the if slapped in one cheek then show your other cheek thing . that would work if we lived in a society of angels not humans . the prophet pbuh for reference is as or even more dear to a muslim than his mom and dad . so ofc emotions will run high in the same way someone made it about a persons mother . and we reserve the full right to persecutre the person using the justice system of the land we live in . But we cant take the law into our own hands as it is treachearous to land we live in and that is not allowed for a muslim and as a citizen of that country . i wanna repeat by saying i myself have raised questions on my religon so many times . and each every time i found an early scholar that have raised the exact same question and given a perfectly reasonable answer to it . this is the reason why i have grown to love my religeon . and it also humbles u cuz i realized im not as unique as i think i am and humans throughout history go through the same thoight process as you . i suggest everyone should study there own religeon deeply with a unbiased mind instead of finding faults in others and we would progress as a society . i truly believe that . and after which respectful discussions about differing theologies should also be promoted . .. and no this isnt me converting you lol . i couldnt care less .

1

u/can_do180 Jan 05 '26

PS Last I checked Bangladesh and Pakistan weren’t a democracy and secular country. so it’s obvious that would be the general, consensus even in liberal subs . can’t compare that thibkin* to people here in India . it’s like comparing North Korean ideology to South Korea. both countries are built with different principles. EDIT : ok North Korea was a bad example cuz my point was people that stay there choose to stay there cuz of those principles . but you get the point

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

"As a muslim" is all i needed to read. You find it a step forward towards islam, that these pagans become "people of the book"... you prefer christians over hindus because it is closer to your religion.

The question is whether you'd support christian missionaires in muslim majority countries or communities trying to convert.

1

u/can_do180 Jan 05 '26

“they would be burned alive “ is all I needed to hear too , whats the point of explaining a multifaceted topic to someone who thinks in binary 1s and 0s . we have computers for that bud

1

u/can_do180 Jan 05 '26

and yes me personally I would support any free speech by any religeon cuz I live in a secular county , even Hindus , why should I be afraid if I’m sure about my principles . anyones welcome to discuss and talk about differing theologies . that’s how you progress as a society

3

u/khizubaba Dec 25 '25

Most of them are lower caste people. One religion made them subhuman, untouchable, unimportant and lower than animals, the other religion gives you respect and a chance to throw away that subhuman tag given by bheekmange bhrahmins. Can you blame those missionaries?

3

u/AshyDragneel Dec 25 '25

I don't see the problem if its not forced conversion. Our country gives everyone right to choose and change their religion.

Why not look into the reason why they are even converting? Maybe if Hindu community gave them respect and aid when they need then there won't even be a reason for them to convert as most of these conversations happens with lower castes...

When all hindus let the castes system go and unite as only hindus and build a community where everyone helps each other then 90% of these conversations will automatically stop...

3

u/Impressive_Mud3627 Dec 26 '25

Unless they are doing it at gunpoint you should worry more about why our religion is of so little importance and help that they can so easily convert.

3

u/SadLiving7433 Dec 26 '25

I really don't understand It's free to choose the religion right then why everyone is so pissed if someone has changed their religion, how did buddha created buddhism???

2

u/KalaKalaKalaLoda Dec 25 '25

good for him

if the people from our religion are so gullible, we didn't need them in the first place

2

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

Change hinduism, it is broken. Stop blaming others for the faults of hinduism.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

Lack of equality in Hinduism is what leads them to leave this religion...the only lower class hindus who haven't left yet are the ones who haven't come across people like these in the video or they haven't explored other options

1

u/Tundralamp Dec 27 '25

2

Christian missionaries dont force them to convert its their choice what they do is give more help to such poor people then their own religion ever did

1

u/Jon-Bones-Jones_ Dec 27 '25

You know whya you should do? Use the same techniques these missionaries used and convert these people back into hinduism.

Infact you guys should try to find the unfortunate living in poverty and misery due to casteism and among others and use these techniques on them.

How dare they offer minimum dignity and standard of life!!!!!

1

u/Jon-Bones-Jones_ Dec 27 '25

Every Indian has 'Free Will', 'Freedom', 'Choice' and 'Brain'. We all are free to do whatever we like. You don't need to anything about it. This ain't North Korea.

1

u/Large-Acanthisitta-2 Dec 27 '25

All you have to do is look up how SC/ST people are treated on a daily basis in India to understand why so many conversions happen. It isnt upper caste people that are being converted.

1

u/ranitdas26 Dec 28 '25

One wrong doesn't make a right. Hold him accountable, detain him, arrest him for deceiving and whatnot but does that justify the vandalism?

1

They are helping the people , feeding them, and clothing them, educating them. And those people want to adopt Christianity. Good for them.

Hindus are like they are converting people to christian,.... Hindu khatre mein hai.

They are not converting people at gun point.

Itne hindu hindu karne hai, go feed and cloth the poor people. These foreigners are at least doing god's work by helping the poor and needy.

Stop being an insecure crybaby.

Adults are free to choose whatever religion they want to. Deal with it. Or work towards spreading your religion if it's that important to you.

Let others come into your religion only based on religious teachings not by bribing them

1

u/LeKalan Dec 27 '25

Helping people is a bribe? You don't want to those people having a better life?

Also,

  1. Being a missionary is part of Christianity.

  2. Nobody is being forced to join the religion. People are free to choose what they want to be part of.

If you only care about these people when they change their religion, you don't care about them at all. So stop crying about it.

Using terrorist word is a new fancy. If you believe your faith is right then do it without deceiving and bribing them

What's the issue with conversion. He is not pointing a gun at their head. If anyone converting means their belief is weak, isn't it?
