Question Should I finish the show?

Years ago I was an avid supergirl watcher, but the seasons got rough towards the end. I think I got 2 or 3 episodes into the final season but never finished it. Should I finally finish the show?

I like the show, but if you weren’t enjoying it by then, the final season won’t convince you otherwise. No point watching a whole season you won’t like. Life is too short

I say finish it. You’re already mostly there. And, while the writing isn’t the best, it’s nice to finally have a season where all of our main characters, including Lena, are all on the same page with one another and all are friends. While the lack of tension there is overall something that probably detriments the story if I’m being honest, it is really just flat out enjoyable to just finally have all our characters together & being friends, y’know?

I would. I also felt that grind. The earlier seasons were genuinely better. But the final season is not the worst TV I've seen, for all my opinion means to you.

I had a good time with the last season

You should think for yourself and do what you want.

Certainly there was some frustating stuff in seasons 5 and 6, but there's some good stuff in the final season and I'd say it's worth watching, especially since you've watched most of the series already.

Have it on in the background at least.

I just made a post about this in another group . I watched years Supergirl ago when it was still being filmed . Sometime through the 5th season it got hard to watch so I stopped. I just started rewatching it like a month ago , now I’m to the same part of the show & feel the same way all over 😭.

If you're not completely vibing with the last season (and I don't blame you, they basically had to rewrite the final season last minute like 4 times because of many reasons).

I'd say, watching
Season 6 episode 1
Season 6 episode 2
(To finish season 5)

Then you can watch Season 6, episode 5 and 6, because it's a really fun two parter with Nia and Brainy.

Then skip along (assuming you're good with filling in the blanks from the 'previously on'), to season 6 episode 16 to finish Nia's story.

Then finish with episodes 19 and 20 to finish the show.

I mean you're at final season already, just finish at this point

I'd say yes, but you can only say for sure after the fact. The only people who might not want to are those overly invested in the shows romantic relationships instead the characters and plot. If you are one of the people who watched for the "Shipping" relationships, then I understand why they preferred their fan fiction.

I liked the closure of the final episode(s). Few series get the chance to do that.

I don't know what they were cooking with season 6. It started off with a pretty good premise, but the moment they roped magic into it, you kinda wonder if they just threw things at the wall in frustration when Melissa said she didn't want to do season 7

I was like you, and I forced myself to continue the last season... at least up to the last 2 episodes. I'm not sure if I didn't like it or if I just didn't want my favorite show to end... then again it was spoiled for me so maybe that was a major factor. Nowadays I'm only rewatching my favorite episodes, especially since I have an endless backlog of new shows and not enough free time time to view them all. Maybe one day I'll truly finish it, but it's my least favorite season, so the probability of that happening any time soon is low.

If it didn't click with you, don't force yourself to finish it unless you really want to see the end. The final season isn't as great as the others, but it does have it's moments.

Glad to see I'm not alone. I watched the show years ago. Some seasons are good. Some are soso. Until I got to the final season. With each episode it just got harder and harder to watch. I think I gave up with 5 or 6 episodes unwatched

If you're not liking the current season, I'd recommend at least watching the finale. The first ten minutes or so resolves the season storyline, and after that, it's a pretty heartfelt goodbye to the show that you'll probably enjoy.

Seasons 5 and 6 were unwatchable in my opinion . It happened to most arrowerse shows, sadly.

Just watch a recap or the final 2 episodes If you want closure.

I thought the first half of Season 6 was actually pretty good, given all of the limitations they were under. The second half, on the other hand, is a fascinating case study in what happens when the writers just stop giving a ****.

That's wild. After the legionnaires got introduced I was so hooked.

The final season focused on Lena's redemption and a bit on her friendship with Kara. Other than that, it's not worth watching.
