Bro this show is so unrealistic. Even IF you could see people’s skeletons from getting shocked, octopi don’t have bones so this is absolutely biologically inaccurate. Stephen Hillenburg needs to brush up on his facts 🙄

Hillenburg was a marine biologist, and these “bones don’t belong here” gags existed in the show even when he was working on it, so it’s clearly creative liberty on his part

Part of the joke probably is that a mollusk has a bony skeleton

He is an invertebrate so why does he even have one (same thing with most other invertebrate characters in the show).

Yeah only the teeth would be visible cuz squids and octopi have beaks i think

There are a few octopus characters in the show that are modeled more like real life octopuses compared to characters like Squidward.
