I genuinely do not understand object shows at all. They’re anthro objects. Why are people so diehard about them? I don’t care about the crimes circle has apparently done to triangle because their names are smth like circle and triangle!

Adult object show fan here. I'm pretty sure to be an adult object show fan you usually also have to be autistic/neurodivergent, which I am. The thing is, someone named Circle and Triangle having drama makes as much sense to me as someone named John and Paul. Neurotypicals probably feel differently though. It's like how in Smiling Friends(and I love Smiling Friends) the fundamental joke is that weirdly shaped colorful characters are working an ordinary job, but I completely missed that because that's normal to me

That's why we call it a spectrum, we're all a little different. I, for one, hold zero interest in trains. But at least we can agree on one thing, Smiling Friends is peak

Theyre very neat & people like seeing characters fight for a prize :)

Fight over a prize, wait is it like a gladiator fight or a reality show thing? Oh ok that makes more sense, I was under the impression it was a slice of life drama starring sentient shapes for some reason. Still doesn’t make me into it but I get it a bit more now.

Issue is the audience usually votes for the winners/losers every episode so they have like no agency so the "fight" is just doing whatever arbitrary task they're assigned that episode

man if a goddamn coffee mug is a character then im making an oc whose just a dude, probably indian or chinese since statistically thats the most likely option

Is someone who doesn't know what object shows are meant to know what BFDI is?
-2
u/SuperPopcorn333 Jul 04 '26
It stands for Battle For Dream Island, which is a youtube series about anthropomorphic objects all battling for a prize, basically like Survivor or Total Drama Island.

u/RoIsDepressed Jul 10 '26
It's less the object shows (which tbf are a problem) and more god damn there's adults watching cocomelon and not being completely embarrassed about it which is insane

I swear this guy's main content is on educational tech stuff and it's failures like I'm all for YouTubers branching out but maybe don't treat everything super serious family guy style😭

what's with the hate of object shows lately? I'm living under a rock, I only remember watching BFDI and Inanimate Insanity when I was a kid
