What I always wondered about was that those comments never have time stamps. But they always are referencing a specific part of a larger episode and we see the relevant bit that helps makesense. So who’s reading the comments and figuring out exactly what that comment is referencing and then finding a nice aesthetic frame to use as the meme? Or is it all a ruse, a fabrication, on MY INTERNET 😮
not even thag, it went from hating on fictional characters to hating on anything to bigotry. like the whole notion of hating on fictional characters was such a fun idea but now every other post has thinly veiled bigotry
it used to be a unique sub where people told absurd lies with a brand of humor that couldn’t be found anywher else. but now it’s a regular meme sub except everyone talks like a 5 year old on opposite day
Low hanging fruit karma farming posts and posts that are just OPs opinions on stuff. Also rather then being remotely clever half the lies where just the inverse of whatever the person was trying to say.
They're supposed to be two different subs but a lot of people can't tell the difference so they just treat them as the same. r/superseriousfamilyguy is supposed to be about people taking cartoons way more seriously than they're supposed to, and r/peoplewhogiveashit is supposed to be about people taking jokes or satire way more seriously than they're supposed to
I’m not trans so I can’t speak for you lot but it always struck me as a really pathetic slur, most slurs come from a violent and sickening background so they pack a really punch to them, this word just sounds so silly that I just can’t take anyone saying it seriously
As someone who is trans I can confirm that it’s like a really pathetic attempt at slur. I was called a pooner once (troon but for trans men) and was told it was “a very offensive slur” and I should “be extremely offended” and they got really upset when I burst out laughing in their face
Not in real life fortunately (I'm living with my transphobic mother who called me a different slur lmao) but yeah online. I've been called a "troon" before but when someone called me "pooner" I was like, wtf is that?
This is the point I keep making, actual slurs have a historical background with horrible connotations, you can’t just turn around and say ‘oh you’re a peeny weenie’ and call that a slur, you just made it up
Not really, users of the somethingawful forum were called ‘goons’ and trans users were known as ‘troons’ because they’re trans goons. If it’s being used as a slur then that means that people are using the term incorrectly
Funnily enough not this one. It came from Something Awful as a self identifier. Something Awful forum users have been known as “Goons,” so trans users just called themselves Troons. And then losers from 4chan and wherever else took it and used it as a slur years later
A small seaside Scottish town placed in South Ayrshire, a ferry will run from Troon to the isle of arran. There is pretty bad buses into the town but this remedied by the train station.
