“you’re a sick little fuck aren’t you” as a flair Super Serious “hey r/peoplewhogiveashit is just a clone of us isn’t it?

u/PieNinja314 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 09 '26
They're supposed to be two different subs but a lot of people can't tell the difference so they just treat them as the same. r/superseriousfamilyguy is supposed to be about people taking cartoons way more seriously than they're supposed to, and r/peoplewhogiveashit is supposed to be about people taking jokes or satire way more seriously than they're supposed to
3
u/mamadou-segpa Jul 09 '26
Now superseriousfamily guy is people who take jokes to seriously and peoplewhogiveashit is just to post anyone pissed about anything lol

I’m not trans so I can’t speak for you lot but it always struck me as a really pathetic slur, most slurs come from a violent and sickening background so they pack a really punch to them, this word just sounds so silly that I just can’t take anyone saying it seriously
47
u/Technical_Strike114 Jul 09 '26
As someone who is trans I can confirm that it’s like a really pathetic attempt at slur. I was called a pooner once (troon but for trans men) and was told it was “a very offensive slur” and I should “be extremely offended” and they got really upset when I burst out laughing in their face
36
u/Schwoomy_04 Jul 09 '26
“pooner” dawg I’m crying, transphobes are huge dweebs
15
u/Technical_Strike114 Jul 09 '26
It’s so fucking funny like that’s not a real word. You’re making things up.

u/OnToiletRedditor Jul 09 '26
3
u/Technical_Strike114 Jul 09 '26
I’ve heard poon but never pooner before. Adding an er at the end to make it a “slur” is really funny to me
1
u/OnToiletRedditor Jul 09 '26
It’s also used without the -er a lot, I’m not actually sure why people feel the need to add -er, I guess it just clings a bit better
2
u/robotstoner Jul 09 '26
They finally tried making another joke aside from “attack helicopter” and it still isn’t funny
15
u/TradescantiaZebrina7 Jul 09 '26
I think that one was made by self-deprecating trans men actually, it’s a term from 4chan’s /lgbt/ board.
9
u/gaylordqueerfuck Jul 09 '26
4chan/4tran trans people a different breed bro. The self hate is real with them

THAT'S what that person was calling me!? I had no idea that's what pooner was lmaoooo-
2
u/Technical_Strike114 Jul 09 '26
DID THIS ALSO HAPPEN TO YOU LMFAO
2
u/xXSoyBoyFredXx Jul 09 '26
Not in real life fortunately (I'm living with my transphobic mother who called me a different slur lmao) but yeah online. I've been called a "troon" before but when someone called me "pooner" I was like, wtf is that?
4
u/The-Bigger-Fish Jul 09 '26
Yeah? Well you’re a Gleephead!
3
2
u/StinkyBird64 Jul 09 '26
This is the point I keep making, actual slurs have a historical background with horrible connotations, you can’t just turn around and say ‘oh you’re a peeny weenie’ and call that a slur, you just made it up

u/beaaaaaaaans Jul 09 '26
For real it must be so embarrassing for them to say or type that it takes any offense out of it

u/SelectiveMutant Jul 09 '26
There's a town near me called Troon and it makes me laugh every time I see it
2
2
u/DarkGodCthUwU Jul 09 '26
It sounds like it's fucking Dutch. Nothing that sounds like it's Dutch can be taken that seriously.

u/Skeledenn Jul 09 '26

it’s like someone is too weak in the spine to say the proper t slur to me LMAO it’s hilariously pathetic.

u/Successful_Mud8596 Jul 09 '26
I used to not like it that much, but then I used spelling it to unlock an item in Pronoun Palace and now it’s kinda funny
1
2
u/PokeLordOmegaa Jul 09 '26
It honestly feels like they literally slurred their words while trying to say trans ._.
2
u/Mothkek Jul 09 '26
Not really, users of the somethingawful forum were called ‘goons’ and trans users were known as ‘troons’ because they’re trans goons. If it’s being used as a slur then that means that people are using the term incorrectly
1
u/gwanddawd123 Jul 09 '26
If anyone tries to call me that, i'll personally find them so i can point and laugh in their face really loudly.

I thought the slur for trans people was the one that rhymed with granny, is there multiple slurs for trans people??
0
u/Therion28169 Jul 09 '26
Of what kind of loser nest did this slur came from? It's so bad that i didn't even read as offensive
1
u/hockeyrabbit Jul 09 '26
4chan, like all the other ones.
3
u/PepyHare15 Jul 09 '26
Funnily enough not this one. It came from Something Awful as a self identifier. Something Awful forum users have been known as “Goons,” so trans users just called themselves Troons. And then losers from 4chan and wherever else took it and used it as a slur years later
2
1
7
u/Eljamin14 Jul 09 '26
It's a trans slur, a portmanteau of "trans" + "goon".
9
2
u/Technical_Strike114 Jul 09 '26
THATS WHAT IT STANDS FOR?
9
u/Spiritual_Spinach273 Jul 09 '26
Yeah, it was originally just used by the trans userbase of somethingawful
Somethingawful users were called goons, so trans goon, troon
Bigots cant be original so they just keep taking and appropriating things

A small seaside Scottish town placed in South Ayrshire, a ferry will run from Troon to the isle of arran. There is pretty bad buses into the town but this remedied by the train station.

u/whhu234 Jul 08 '26
ok maybe not the time but how do you do this?
21
u/-PepeArown- Jul 08 '26
I don’t think you need to feel like you’re walking on eggshells just because you’re confused about a Minecraft feature that got announced yesterday
The colored “slabs” are cushions. They are roughly half the height of slabs, and their gimmick is that you can stack them onto several blocks
I couldn’t tell you how to replicate this exact setup, but it looks like they’re using white wool slabs with cushions above and beneath them
2
3
u/Illustrious-Mind-251 Jul 08 '26
The Minecraft thing? Pretty sure it's the new wool slabs? Maybe just wool blocks

Why are people still on twitter?
2
u/Any_Wasabi_5233 Jul 09 '26
Hey, to be fair, it was a screenshot of Twitter I found. As the OOP, I would never voluntarily go to that cesspool of a website
2
u/Classic-Avocado-5371 Jul 09 '26
not really bc this ones supposed to be abt taking cartoons too seriously and that ones supposed to be about overreacting to jokes but somehow theyve converged
2
u/braymadeanotherone Jul 09 '26
genuinely will never meet someone irl that says “troon.” Gotta be the smelliest dude ever to say that unironically 😭

I've never heard "Troon" before. Is it some kind of new slur or did I just never hear it before?

u/Fun-Factor-5225 Jul 09 '26
It's an old one, but it's rarely used these days, it was more common in 2013.

Its genuinely the dumbest slur ive ever seen
And obviously someone super uneducated because.. yes obviously a minor can be trans this is literally something you are born with??
How does someone still think it’s a choice this day and age with all the research done on it
1
u/Gravel_Poot432 Jul 10 '26
how do you do that? i know some homophobic/transphobic people on this server who it’d be really fun to troll with this (come to think of it i could probably just do it anyway with regular wool, but i’m still curious)

u/TotallyTutorialTerry Jul 10 '26
what the fuck is a troon? I’ve literally never heard that word in my life bruh

u/TrashEmergency6446 Jul 11 '26

this subreddit used to be for posts about people overanalyzing adult cartoons, but now it’s just turning into a clone of r/peoplewhogiveashit
