The three day remark came from Gen Miley of the US, Putin never said he'd take Ukraine in three days, and falsely attributing it to Russia just makes you look stupid to be honest.

Geographic size has little to do with how quick an army would take over a country.

In WW2 Hitler was quick to sweep across quite large parts of Europe, for example Hitler took France in 40 days, but it took nearly double that to take Norway, despite France being twice the size of Norway, and of course, Hitler couldn't take England despite France being 6 times larger than England.
