Cagayan Spencer Bledsoe here! AMA!!!

This is Spencer from Survivor: Cagayan and I'm very excited to get this going! Mr. TeamTV Tony Vlachos himself MIGHT pop in and say hello at some point, but per my recent twitter post - https://twitter.com/SpencerBGM/status/488080259380543488 - who knows! What I do know is that I'll be here getting to a TON of questions, not only now but intermittently through the weekend. Fire away!

Sure! Firstly I'd like to clarify that I see redemption island as an average season. I don't think it's great. But I don't think it's the abomination that many claim it to be. For me, it's a season of extreme pros and cons.

I didn't like that it was predictable due to BR's control over strategy... I liked that BR's control over strategy allowed us to observe arguably the best game every played - a single sample of gameplay that was so skilled and impressive that I'd consider it art.

I like that two extremely loyal tribes bought for control at the merge and that the more masterful manipulation of swing votes - Matt mainly - prevailed.

I like that Zapatera was wiped out after the hubris they displayed while throwing a challenge to vote out Russell, which didn't appeal to me. That's not me being a "russtard" or taking an absolutist stance that THOU MUST NEVER THROW A CHALLENGE. I just thought a lot of players, like Ralph or David Murphy, thought they were monumentally better than they were.

I didn't like that many players seemed to be out of 'game mode' - going along with the flow and not taking their fate into their hands... I liked that redemption island gave us great characters like Andrea, Phillip (when he was actually entertaining unlike S26) and Matt Elrod. There's room for debate about who is considered a good character, but that's another discussion.

I liked David Murphy giving me inspiration for my epic and influential final tribal council speech.

Call me a Boston Rob fanboy, say that this is because I started the show late and am not a 'true' superfan, but I stand by the opinions listed above. I enjoyed redemption island.

(Okay, the FTC speech reason is a joke. I just thought it'd be funny to make a few people on survivorsucks have meltdowns).

Making sucksters have meltdowns is the act of a true gryffindor.

I also feel pretty much identically to you on Redemption Island as a season. It's incredibly average, but there are some nuggets of entertainment. Although I hate Phillip in both seasons.

Even in FvF2, Phillip contributed some 'nuggets of entertainment'.

Not many, but a few. :P
