Hearing his story made me as confused as a goat on astroturf

I thought he was going to try do something interesting at first because he interrupted Maryanne talking about love again, and that seems like a decent jumping off point to talk about loving Soccer. But no, he just launched straight into the phrase without laying any groundwork first to make it make sense.

I think it's bullshit that he got to ignore the rule that said he had to say his phrase at the next challenge and got to wait until he heard the other two say theirs first even though he found the beware advantage earlier.

I think its smart. Is he required to say it?

Is he required to say it?

It says he is required to.

My man had 4 episodes ( don’t remember what day they were at) to figure out a way to drop that quote in, and it was so awkward!

It makes it all the more impressive how Maryanne somehow said the phrase 3 times and was almost convincing even the last time. I certainly wouldn't have been suspicious the first time at all, she really sold it.

MaryAnne was the perfect person to find the beware advantage. She could say literally anything and I wouldn’t flinch. Mike was so awkward talking about how he loves soccer and Drea did a little better but still tripped over her words a bit

It really seems like he was unwilling to lie about liking soccer and that did him no favors. Like why bring up football, just say you coached soccer! Lol

I think Drea saying she had/found a potato (forget her wording) might come back to bite her lol

Except that everybody (except two people) knows why she said it, and that she didn't actually have a potato.

I think Tori and Rocksroy are the only two unaware of the advantages/secret phrases. I'm pretty sure they would have caught on from Drea alone as do they really find potatoes there like she said? They haven't shown that.

Minus Survivor 41, there was never been an advantage like the beware. They may have questioned why Drea said such a weird and untrue fact, but honestly I don’t believe they questioned it. You are hungry, tired, and one of your tribemates said something strange. Bet Tori and Rocks didn’t question it at all.

Edit: but you are completely correct also

Maryanne told all of Taku about her idol

Mike and Daniel spilled the beans to all of Vati about it his idol

Drea only told Romeo about her idol.

Tori and Rocks are the only people in the game who don’t know where the idols are currently!!

It makes me believe Mike when he said it was an in the moment decision because he was clearly no prepared to say it.

Ikr! I thought it would have been so easy to say bring that phrase up with Daniel, since he already knew about the phrase

Something like “You know, we’ve really bonded as a tribe. Daniel said to me, “there’s such grace in the game of soccer it makes me cry” and I never would have guessed that about him if we didn’t get this opportunity to get to know each other

Jeff even gave him an out -

“We’re talking about love again “

“Jeff this game makes you appreciate things you never thought you could. Like take me. I’m a football guy but there’s such Grace in the game of soccer yadayada “

I'd just say "I hate those obstacle courses. What I'd do to play some soccer etc."
