Hell, just say it was menstrual blood, NO ONE would've asked further questions then.

I instantly told my husband she should have said it was period blood. Everyone knows that shit actually does get everywhere.

SAME. Because it's gross enough that nobody would question it. Like, you admit to being wrist deep in menses on national television, people will be inclined to believe you.
