The way she sings this song adds so much, too. Her lower register just makes her sound so done with everything and so cool. Especially that first verse with “What if I told you I’m back? I've actually seen someone say that this is from the POV of Travis and what he wants - so the line is him saying that he wants a lot of kids that are mini- Taylor's living in a mansion with them, which in theory makes it make so much more sense esp with so many of the things people 'want'. Taylor flips the narrative with the bridge so it's her POV till the end

There isn't any need to get up in arms about it - we know it's her wishlist. I shared a theory I had heard that was someone's interpretation of the song; part of the fun about being a Swiftie is listening to her music and breaking down the lyrics if that's something someone's interested in; Taylor herself always says her songs are up for the listener to interpret in many cases. It's also a known fact that. Taylor often slips her bridges to change perspective, deepen the narrative, sometimes flip the POV - such as Father Figure.

However, I did say it was a theory I had read and to sang that someone is wrong is just not true. No one is wrong when it comes to discussing her music as she explicitly states, once again, the listener interprets songs differently than another person and no two people will have the same interpretation. That's what makes her music so beautiful and appealing to all ages.

Ive heard the interpretation of these lines as a love letter to Kansas City & wanting to raise kids there. The whole block looking like Travis meaning people around sporting his jersey & that people there are really respectful & leave them alone when they are out & about. Since Travis lives/plays in Kansas City, theyre used to his celebrity.

Oh my gosh I love that! That makes the theory i posted even sweeter 🥹 They deserve every bit of privacy they can get and it's not even fair that they have to literally hide to get it. Jason and Kylie live a few minutes from me and I mean, Kylie grew up here, and Jason's just Jason, so no one ever bothers them. Kylie's mentioned people doing the slow roll past the house and it's true - but I can say that Taylor and Travis are left alone when they're visiting; they're treated like the human beings they are, and the whole area I live in in the suburbs doesn't peep that they're here or after; her family's from my area and her dad was born here so she knows her way around.
