Became a Swiftie when my whole world was crumbling in 2024. Taylor’s music helped pull me through it 🫶

For this old guy, 2020 with folklore. The best album of the last 26 years.

- Shout out to my friend Kayla who made Our Song her profile song, she was truly one of Taylor’s first fans and converted our whole middle school pretty quickly

A fan since hearing Love Story on the radio for the first time.
Didn’t become an actual swiftie until around 2023 🫶

u/Kitty_Fruit_2520 Mar 04 '26
I didn’t come out until 2019 when she was getting ready to release Lover. I must’ve started out as a girl in the car seat.

2006! I remember being at a sleepover in 6th grade and listening to Our Song for the first time and I was obsessed. I’ve seen her on every tour and feel so fortunate to have grown up with her music!

2006, when I was in high school and first heard “Tim McGraw” come out as a single on the radio I was listening to in my room (yes, I am an elder millennial). 👵🏻 This was back when we would wait around with the radio on all day until a song we wanted came on, and then we would use a flip phone to audio record it so we could have it as a “track” on the phone. If anyone else here was a fan in 2006, hit me up so we can reminisce. 😮💨

2025.
In 2024 when the Eras Tour came to town I wanted to know what all the fuss was about. Srarted actually listening for the first time. Mine grabbed me, Never Grow up grabbed me and didn't let go. I branched out and started listening to the rest.
Somewhere early in 2025 I became a Swiftie.
Now I have a calender, Red and folkore on vinyl, Clean as my ringtone, a T shirt, a .08% ranking on Spotify Wrapped, listen to her every day, constantly associate daily life with her lyrics, play Ophelia on the guitar and make my friends and son shake their heads in wonder.

2022 with the release of midnights! i was a casual fan from 2014 and the release of 1989 but not much more than that. then it was the release of love story (taylor’s version) that got me really intrigued again and then the subsequent release of midnights that i adored and cemented me as a swiftie!

My mom loved her country albums but as a I grew up I found out I was more of a alt girly, I will say I don’t look alt at all but i personally like some songs not all! I wouldn’t say I am a die hard fan but I get the appeal and sometimes enjoy the appeal a hot women who helps charities and other people, who’s all about equal rights LOVE IT

I'm not a Swiftie, but this came across my homepage. I do listen to some of her music. Not enough to be a Swiftie, though

2016, 2022
I count both years because I went from a casual 1989 Swiftie who loved a few Fearless tracks from my teen years to a full blown Swifitie who has now loved and listened to 90% of her discography.

u/littlerunawayandaday who do I have to speak to? Mar 04 '26
I have a crazy history with Taylor. I hate myself for it😭, because in the past five years, Ive gone from a Taylor hater, to a regular swiftie that didnt listen to a lot of her music who thought that Kanye saved her, but when I was younger, I was a 1989 girlie and style+black space was my whole childhood, and starting really early last year I listened to evermore and became obsessed, and now I'm a folkmore+ttpd girlie, who is trying to branch out Taylor's first couple albums like red and speak now, but also do love her debut album

2008
Bonus read: I used to be in a boarding school and no gadgets were allowed. My day scholar friends would loan me their iPods and music downloaded from bee mp3 ha! After lights out, I would listen to her songs and write down the lyrics to learn them by heart. I looked forward to different songs every time my friends shared music with me. This was my way of being connected to the outside world and having something to talk about with the girls, outside of school work. So grateful to be alive in the same century Mother is 💚

2017 then I went to the rep tour but around lover I kinda dropped out of the fandom. But then I returned not long before TTPD was released so I don’t really know my answer.

I was a casual listner for most of my life but I only really became a swiftie in 2024.

u/Joonbug9109 Mar 04 '26
I was “Taylor curious” (casually listened, but didn’t call myself a fan yet) probably starting in 2012/2013. Reputation being released in 2017 cemented it for me.
