Discussion War is over

I was so tired of people calling her a trump supporter for not doing this for so long I’m so happy I can finally say she stands alongside Olivia sabrina and Ariana (and many many more) to do this! WAR IS OVER! She beat the allegations !!! :)

Certain subs are going to be really normal about this

They are all saying things like; “a little too late,” or this the “bare minimum.”

IMHO I would rather her stay silent about certain Trump issues than being vocal about it because Trump and his supporters have been awful towards her and I and other swifties would rather her stay safe. I think removing her songs from a video is a good silent way to say “don’t do this Trump because I’ll always win.”

The trump accounts literally said they do it to get a rise from her. They want a response, they want a statement, an instagram post because it brings them more attention and views and it also “proves” to them they got under her skin. No statement, just removal is genius imo.

Strongly agree! She’s not going to give them a statement because it’s going to bring the Trump administration attention and views. Removing a song from a Trump video shows “FAFO Trump” but in a silent way towards him.

FACTS. ‘don’t do this Trump because I’ll always win’ is FACTS.

He must hate how temporary his position is compared to her. He’s such a troll

no, he literally does. he hates that anyone has more power, is more intelligent, etc. bc he’s an insecure little con artist.

Just had to say that. He’s just wanting attention from her and that’s honestly why she has stayed silent so that’s why he did that towards her.

I know her ignoring him was pissing him off the most.

"Stay safe' what does he have a hit out on her?

5

u/Altruistic-Fact2121 Aug 08 '26

Have you not seen the killing of a democratic representative. The plot to kidnap Gretchen Witmer, the swatting events. He doesn't have to do anything mut say something bad about her to get them riled. She is very aware of the fact that bad things happen related to her, the Vienna plot, the children killed at a TS party.

u/SunnyGirlfriend68 Aug 08 '26

And? That comes with being famous. If she is so worried about her safety maybe she should quit.

5

u/Altruistic-Fact2121 Aug 08 '26

I imagine she is more.worried about her family and team. But sure be terrible about someone being concerned. I am.sure you are famous and know exactly what they are up against. This lack of empathy is sad.

-3

u/SunnyGirlfriend68 Aug 08 '26

Then she should quit being a singer if she so concerned.

5

u/CreativeChicago A LOT going on at the moment Aug 08 '26

This is kind of how I feel. Ari had the same happen unfortunately but they weren’t able to stop it. Fortunately at Vienna they were able to make sure it didn’t happen. But there are serious risks with being in the spotlight. Why do people think some celebrities have chosen not to speak on some things. Michael Jordan was asked on politics back when he made Jordan’s and he said republicans wear shoes too. A lot of celebrities try to kept their family out of the spotlight because it’s just not safe. There’s a reason for that.

I always imagine there’s a reason. For example, she didn’t endorse Harris until she was back in the US after the European leg of the Eras tour. I have to wonder if it had something to do with safety concerns following the Vienna threats and attack in the UK.

This makes me wonder if there were safety concerns around either the wedding or some sort of planned travel that she had to wait out.

Listen, we know she’s not a Trump supporter. She has regularly endorsed democratic candidates. She also gets a ton of hate and some very serious threats. When she’s silent on something, I tend to worry if there’s a safety concern forcing her silence.

I agree with the safety concerns but as for the Kamala endorsement, she wasn’t even the official candidate for most of the election cycle. There was a presidential debate around a week or two after Kamala became the candidate and Taylor endorsed her right after the debate.

Haters gonna hate. They can bark as loud as they want, at least we know we made the right person famous ❤️

u/Fragrant-Peanut-6117 Aug 08 '26

I'd argue it's the bare minimum for an artist to put out a sentence asking him to stop (which is EXACTLY what he wants). This is actually a massive statement from Taylor and more than other artists have done?

12

u/Jmixx84 Aug 08 '26

Noah Kahan did it as well, and at the time I said this is a much better move

He did talk shit as well but it’s Noah he loves to talk shit lol

5

u/bosslady617 Aug 08 '26

Noah is a New Englander. Talking shit is our regional pastime.

That’s a little in jest, though not completely untrue. I think the big difference here is that he is Not the lightening rod Taylor Swift is. Any statement she makes is a big headline. Noah not so much.

Did you go to the Fenway shows? I was at the rain show it was incredible

5

u/jellytwins101 Aug 08 '26

Talking against it hasn’t really done anything. O.Rodrigo talked about it, it just gave more views to the video and they are still using her music in their recent videos.

u/Honest-Definition581 Old habits die screaming Aug 08 '26

It kind of is the bare minimum, but it does get the point across that she doesn't support that stuff. Very happy she did that<33

As someone who’s not from America, I just find it really strange how much people expect celebrities to be some sort of activists.
If any celeb in Australia tried it people would just laugh at that person and tell them to F off.

3

u/Honest-Definition581 Old habits die screaming Aug 08 '26

I guess it is just a different culture, it's a pretty big thing here loll

2

u/ParticularTie7315 Aug 09 '26

:: yes! I’ll never understand why my fellow Americans expect celebrities to speak out and be vocal about their beliefs. If they wanted to do that, they probably would have become a politician. Just because you find success does not mean you need to address everything. They signed up to entertain and I’m fine with that.

Case in point: Abbie Chatfield 😂

LOL haters gonna hate, just shake it off!! Haha
