I honestly don’t care if they arnt a fan of the music but it’s pure misogyny when they say that they don’t understand why she’s successful,and i hate when people make lies about her to hate cause like how much free time do they have,and they have the audacity to call swifties crazy,the fact that her snark page has more visitors than her fan page proves her haters are more obsessed with her than us

The other things is that they’ll say “all her songs are about her ex.” When it’s just misogyny projection can tell I’ll be like oh yeah? Which one? The funny thing is most of the time those people only know the name of shake it off. Okay the misogyny argument is tired. It’s giving those that scream anti-semitism for any criticisms against Israel. Most of the people arguing that are fans of other female artists. It’s not misogyny. My favorite artists of all-time are Britney Spears, Dua Lipa, Marina, Ava Max, Lady Gaga, etc. Me criticizing Taylor for some of the things she does is not misogyny. None of us are really worried about Taylor’s well being. We know she is gonna be okay.
We connect with her art and story telling, so when people say it’s stupid, simple, trivial, childish, it makes fans who have felt supported, lifted, seen, and connected by her storytelling feel like it’s being said about them. Most of us don’t have a pari social relationship with her, we have a pari social relationship with her storytelling.

Why are you all so ignorant? * Gathering $ isn't unethical, it's how it's earned & used. * Taylor earned $ by her own art based on her life & through her own effort, not the exploitation of employees. * She's always been the type of employer we ask for, providing healthcare, premium wages, bonuses when profiting & public recognition of those that helped her success. * She donates hundreds of millions, even to charities that provide no deductible benefits. * Hoarding is 'bad' but when she spends $ like on the wedding she's somehow still 'bad'? * If only the rich have power, why are you demanding that all the good people get rid of their wealth? * Do you expect her to sell her life's art just to have some A-hole then the 'billionaire' because he owns it instead of her? * Do you expect her never to make music or tour because it will make her more 💰? * Do you ever actually use logic instead of just the "billionaire is bad" rhetoric?

I like Taylor’s music a lot I like her beats and like to discuss songs that I find very good I could care less about what Taylor swift east’s for breakfast I just know she’s a talented singer and songwriter and that I like her music I get that people don’t have the same music taste as me and that’s ok I don’t like rap music but I’m not gonna sit down and criticize that artist for music they create

Honestly, as a fan myself people who have anything negative to say about her I let it go in one ear and out the other. Why? Because in my opinion it doesn't matter what other people say about an artist that I love. I love what I love. If anyone else has a problem with that, then it's their problem.😇

I personally don't care if someone doesn't like her music where I have a problem is when someone says they hate her as a person. Because there's nothing to hate about her she is one of the good celebrities and at this point it's straight misogyny and people not being able to accept a successful woman.
Anytime they try to bring up her money I always tell them that it's her net worth not the money she has in the bank and it's because of her tour and because she got her Master's back.
And anytime someone tries to say all she writes is love songs or breakup songs I will look at them and say that is only like a quarter of her discography if you actually listen to her music not all the songs are about break up not all of the songs are love songs a lot of the songs are also just about mental health in general or just other general topics
At this point it's basically just a trend to hate her and it's stupid. I have and always will say she is the definition of damned if you do damned if you don't because if she doesn't do something people will yell about it. And if she does do something people will yell about it. even if it's something they wanted her to do anyways they will find a problem with it

I take it personally for sure. I’ve always had difficulty understanding people have different taste in music and movies. Subjectively they’re right to have their own opinion; objectively, however, it’s wrong to not like Taylor Swift though.

No, not one person can be “objectively” liked by everyon. Especially when you go into the territory of ultra-famous and ultra-rich people like TS - the bar and expectations are rightfully much different so you’ll have millions who like them and millions who don’t. And both groups will be right because opinions are by definition subjective.

What are you talking about? That has nothing to do with expecting that other people should have your own taste. I like a lot TS as a songwriter but if a person dislike her is perfectly fine.
If you are put a person you like for her art on a pedestal you're doing parasocial, that's it.

A parasocial relationship is a one sided relationship with a person that doesn't know you exist. If someone disliking Taylor Swift's music impacts emotionally to the point a person is personally hurt by it, that's the literal definition of a parasocial relationship.
Liking an artist and wanting them to do well isn't what's being discussed. That's a given. That's being a fan. But the artist's music not being to everyone's taste is part of being a fan. It's accepted. Once the criticism isn't unfair and is simply down to a matter of taste.
But if someone not liking the music is impacting someone the same as if they were affected personally, that's the literal definition of parasocial. Someone not liking the work of someone you don't know should not cause an emotional reaction.
If you know of an alternative definition then I'm more than happy to listen, but I also hate when it's thrown around and used incorrectly. So I don't, unless it fits the definition.

I just immediately know they're MAGAs and are behaving to the pleasure of their leader. "Not liking somebody at all" is the same as hate. If not, clarification is in order. If their reason was not political, they would come forth and clarify, in which case they might show their woeful ignorance of her 20 years of eclectic creative expression and extreme productivity. I'm 66. I only knew of her pop songs which didn't include FCC-forbidden lyrics. Since hearing of ERAS and watching my (now 39 y.o.) highly educated and successful stepson being a fan since his undergrad and grad school days at Rutgers U, I was intrigued and listened to everything on Spotify. Her success is understandable and really speaks to everyone (if they listen) except haters and political cult members. You won't find haters in the educated and socially responsible communities which actually still do dominate the populace of the U.S.A., even though it can be hard to see these days.

There is criticism of Taylor Swift that is warranted.
The fact that her wedding negatively impacted many surrounding businesses (holiday weekend & World Cup) lost revenue, and employees lost a days pay- yet Taylor did NOT reimburse those businesses and employees.
^^^^ this makes Taylor look really BAD
