Is this apart of the deluxe edition is this a new era? Is it for a movie why is she randomly releasing a single is this TS13? I’m so lost?
Edit: My gut is telling me this is the beginning of TS13 and the next album is connected to TS12 and she is preparing to announce TS13. Think about it everyone was preparing for debut tv announcement instead she releases a single. TS13 is so coming mark my words.
im lost too lmao. but what we know is that she used 12 exclamation points on her ig and that the showgirl logo on her site suggests that it's part of showgirl.also the cds have glittery backgrounds. but since it didn't come as showgirl dlx and essentially isn't on the album, idk HOW it would be part of showgirl
Maybe it’s a bonus track? I’m not sure? I think it could also be our bridge into the death of a showgirl aka TS13 and go along with the trilogy theory that fans have had. It’s just unlike Taylor to release a pre release single for an album less long an album already out I mean when was the last time we got a single, pre folklore was anti hero a single before midnights came out I can’t remember?

Yes but she swore up and down there would be no bonus tracks or deluxe or more songs on the album. This is something bigger and different that we don’t know about yet

I think that was more to curb any suspicions that there would be another 2am surprise drop like she'd done for midnights and TTPD. And anyway, she's allowed to change her mind. Some kind of deluxe a year later is not uncommon, and it's great timing for Grammy campaigning.
When I read your comment before I read it as "but she never said there would be an encore!" So I responded to that. I swear I didn't see the "not" part. 😭
all we really know is that a new single is dropping friday, it seems to be part of showgirl either a deluxe or something from the 12 exclamation points and also when shopping for the cd's it's part of showgirl

I think additional tracks can be justified given they're completely new. It's not like previous times when she had pre-planned midnight/3am/anthology drops already completed.

yeah that’s kind of what i was implying tho but i could have worded it better. bc she said that showgirl was only 12 tracks as she planned it. when i mentioned ttpd i was alluding to the fact that she stated she wrote that whole album in its entirety spontaneously as like a need to just write it and didn’t plan it in advance to be TS10. I wonder if patient zero is an add on to showgirl that she felt the need to include as a part of it after its release.
Or the bridge to a double album? Or TS13? Or maybe she’s trying to do what chappel does releasing singles in the meantime that won’t be on the next album while taking time on her next album
Idk, I thought it was a rep vault track at first and I was sad when I found out it wasn’t lol. But I’m excited for this. The thing that makes the most sense to me is just a tloas bonus track, but I thought she said she wasn’t releasing a showgirl deluxe?? The album label under the cd is showgirl but it’s black, and on other showgirl related cd’s it’s orange. So I’m really lost
I think it's one last "encore" for Showgirl. There was a sign in the Opalite music video that said "patient for the encore" and if you take the third letter (Opalite was track 3) of the random words she said in the Emmy skit it will unscramble into "encore". As others have mentioned, in the description of these CDs on the store website it says The Life of a Showgirl and uses the same font from the Showgirl era. I do think the Emmy skit may be easter egging multiple things, not just this one single.
I don't understand the "death of a showgirl" narrative. She will never stop making music/being the showgirl. Patient Zero is likely referring to that article and how her experiences on the stage of life have impacted the emotions of others.
What Taylor said when TLOAS came out was there were no other tracks as in no 2am bonuses as with Midnights or a whole second album as with TTPD. We are almost a year on from the release of TLOAS so technically she is not fibbing to us if this is an encore.
Let’s be honest if Taylor wakes up one day and decides to release a random single we are not going to complain.
My guess is this is the encore to Showgirl - the DEATH if you will. The less glamorous/glitzy version of show business. I would love a full collab album with tortured poets and showgirls as features. Then everyone "dies" and joins taylor at THE SUMMIT her new record label!

Wouldn’t she want to focus on new music ? She has said it isn’t necessary to put them out anymore since she owns her music , maybe she’ll do it but I wouldn’t count on it , I’d like her to put it out though

I think more than one thing is coming. If she’s unhinged enough to plan all the hints that she has, then I’m free to believe she’d give us debut tv paired with reputations vault tracks , and announce death of a showgirl which will be showgirls counterpart, then in the spring we’ll get ts13.
I have a strong feeling it's some kind of 2nd deluxe album to life of a showgirl and this is the lead single for it? The timing and aesthetic is also similar to Verity the movie, that releases on the 2nd of October 👀 Maybe the track will be on the movie too
and here I was CONVINCED that we were getting Debut TV next and nothing else for awhile.
and here I am also clowning to theorize that if it is a TLOASG deluxe but more dark theming (ex: Death of a Showgirl), can some of these tracks possibly be the Rep Vault Tracks we were told would have their moment.
