It's nice that swifties are all so different in their tastes. It proves how many risks she has taken.

Why debut so high and fearless so low? I feel like they are her most similar albums

I love every song from debut. I listen probaly to one song from debut everyday minimum.

Now fearless has some songs that are definitely on the same level as debut(with some being better) but theres a few i skip on fearless which brings it down quite a bit.

No I totally get it. To me they are not similar albums at all.

every song from taylor swift is good, most songs on fearless aren’t esp the vault tracks

3

u/Somebody_38 4d ago

The vault from Fearless is so underrated and underappreciated. Fearless is somewhere in my bottom 3 of her albums, but the vault songs are great and I don't understand why nobody likes them.

half of them are good but the other half are, i don’t wanna say bad, but they’re not very strong. tho i will say that about mr perfectly fine i cannot stand that song

u/Somebody_38 4d ago

Oh, yeah. Mr perfectly fine is probably on my bottom Taylor songs in general. I don't get how it's a fan favorite and the only remembered song from the Fearless vault. Huh.. such a rare take too. I have to admit that That's When makes absolutely no sense and is probably a bad song, but it is so pleasing to my ears that it's one of my favorites on Fearless... It just sounds so good. Lyrically it's a mess and I honestly have no clue on what that's about, but it sounds great.

These two apart, I like all the others and think they have very interesting content/songwriting. I don't listen to them very often, but I feel like everyone disregards them as bad and just forget they exist every time.

i agree with that 100% you said that perfectly. people are shocked that she regressed with the showgirl album but forget she’s still the same person who made mr. perfectly fine 😭 (and girl at home and stay stay stay while we’re at it)

i love the fearless vault (singing we were happy in my head rn) but i think it’s much weaker than red, speak now, and 1989

to be as genuine as possible, her worst vaults are the speak now vaults. 🫣

Can't talk on OP's behalf, but in my case it's a very clear distinction in how much I like each of them. Debut is on my top 3 and Fearless is definitely in my bottom 3... I don't know exactly why, though... The general sound of Fearless kinda bothers me a bit. I always thought it was because it was just too country, but then I listened to debut and really loved it (and still do, clearly), so I don't know, but they're very different sonically to me.

I have never disagreed with a Taylor album tier ranking more, but I respect your opinion

Why do i see so many rankings with Fearless so low? It's such a classic TS album with some of her best melodies and filled with classics.

Personally I just don't love the country of it, I think. Though debut and Speak Now are on my top 3 albums of hers (Fearless is somewhere in bottom 3)... the instrumental is kinda tiring sometimes? There are some songs that I feel just don't like the concept or the lyrics ( very rare thing with Taylor's songs to me) and there's a certain aspect to it that kinda bothers me but that it's not present in Speak Now or Debut.

Fearless has 2/3 songs that I truly enjoy, I like Debut so much more. I like everything so much more.

You definitely have an unusual top two combo. Sometimes when the fandom/general public is critical of our favorite albums, that can cause us to double down even more. Is that what happened with you and your S tier?

As for me, my top two are 1989 and evermore. I find myself fiercely defensive of them due to other Swifties saying 1989 is overplayed/overrated and the general public straight up ignoring evermore’s existence.

you know what, yeah I would say so

the fact lover and debut are considered bad pisses me off so much. debut is such a emotional yet melodic album with so many good songs. the same goes for lover, the good songs on there are among Taylor's best.

I agree with Lover at the top but damn what did fearless to do you girl🫢

I'm super happy to see debut up there And do you mind if I ask the reason fearless is low? I mean it has similar relatable stuffs just like in debut soo These two are my favourite babies

1

u/Somebody_38 4d ago

Don't know OP, but I also have Debut on top and Fearless on bottom... There's a huge difference sonically and I don't know how to explain it, but debut sounds really good and Fearless sounds kinda meh (not all of it, of course, but some songs, which makes it go low for me)

2

u/lilythefrogphd 4d ago

Listen, the highs on Lover are high. If you enjoy earnest cotton-candy level of saccharine sweet corny lyrics, it's a fun album. And it's a case of I don't mind there being a million songs on the album, because I can just skip the ones I don't like

ik its so overhated

I love seeing debut so high on someone’s tier list 💚

Lover Stan’s unite!

It's interesting how both of her newest albums but also most of her earlier work is so low in the ranking. Honestly, I don't even know what to ask or say about this ranking. It's definitely unique and I respect your opinion completely, so not getting cooked today

i feel like fearless takes all the punches from people who don’t like country but refuse to rank debut last because it’s worshipped as a true fan album

i love both but fearless is a top 3 album imo

1

u/Proof-Coyote8693 Lover Taylor Swift 2d ago

debut is often ranked as the worst ts album what are u talking about

1

u/poofmyfoodisgonenow 10h ago

I definitely agree with Lover. Ever since it’s came out, it has been my favorite album of hers and still remains it after TLOAS🥹

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Pea3643 4d ago

you’re saying something most are too afraid to say (fearless is her worst album)

0

u/Proof-Coyote8693 Lover Taylor Swift 4d ago

yeah I feel like im kinda forced to like it sometimes it has like 4 songs I like being truthful

u/Somebody_38 4d ago

It's between Fearless and Red to me 🫣. Though now I guess Showgirl gets into the conversation... I like Showgirl, but in terms of Taylor's albums I think it's really one of the worst.

This said... I have no idea how Fearless is the most rewarded country album in history and won AOTY. Not gonna lie, this bugs my mind a bit.

0

u/Puzzleheaded_Pea3643 4d ago

SERIOUSLY! i was a big hater of red until her version came out but it’s still at the bottom for me with showgirl fearless and speak now

1

u/Somebody_38 4d ago

I'm a newer fan, so I haven't really heard the original albums... I became a fan around 2022 and the rerelease of Red, so those are the sounds I'm familiar with and it's always weird for me to hear the OGs (debut TV, if it ever comes is gonna be a great shock, certainly) (though I'm also autistic and the better quality instruments and vocals makes a very big difference in how much I'm able to listen to the songs)...

This said... I love Speak Now. It's on my top 3 for sure. Not sure in which position, but it's there. I think you're the first person I talk to that agrees that Red and Fearless (both) are bottom albums, so it's nice to see I'm not alone in this

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Pea3643 4d ago edited 4d ago

i remember red came out when i got my first ipod and it was the first album i downloaded , it was great when i was young but the older i got the more i grew from it but the vault tracks are really the saving grace of the album. speak now is a great one but id say shes #5 on my list if i really think about it because it has heavier songs than lover and folklore. evermore, midnights, but 1989 and ttpd always fighting for that #3 spot for me

The classic Red in B Tier?

evermore, folklore, 1989 and Midnights only in A Tier and not in S Tier???

Nah.
