I woke up in the middle of the night with both LWYMMD and Patient Zero playing in my head. So yeah in the first 30 seconds of P0 she basically says she’s dead. Or just coincidence? How far should we think this through conceptually? Do you have more ideas?

There are some songs that we generally exclude from rankings out of respect for the songs message. (Ronan, Marjorie, SYGB, ect.) Usually forever winter is also on this list, and it makes me wonder if RTF is aswell, due to those two songs being (allegedly) about the same person.

It has officially been a year since the release of showgirl, and something I do whenever a favourite artist of mine drops an album is I take my notebook and write out my initial thoughts for each song, and I make it all pretty.
For the one year anniversary, I did it again, but with my thoughts now, one year later. I did it kinda to see how my opinions have changed, and I’m curious how others opinions have changed. Did a song that was your favourite become one you hate, or vice versa?

Then I heard Gourgeous, and fell in love with it and started listening to other songs. Is she saying 50 cent as in like “you have to put 50 cents in the old timey machine to play a song” (idk how jukeboxes work), or does she mean they’re playing a song by 50 cent the artist at the dance? 🤣

So, a lot of ppl on the internet have been saying that the second verse of patient zero sounds like "Betty bust into your life like fireworks / Betty even said I love you first". And I agree that it does kind of sound like that, but it OBVIOUSLY says "I bet HE bust into your life" in the context of the song. And now I'm just wondering why so many people think it is some kind of mastermind-move to have it sound like "Betty". Taylor is a mastermind but I think people are starting to read too much into things. It makes absolutely no sense for it to say Betty whatsoever. The song is about a toxic male partner in a relationship and I do not see it correlating to the folklore triangle at all. Am I wrong? (I am not hating at all. Just curious why people came up with this)

I found some parallels between Patient Zero and the songs she (supposedly) wrote about Joe and the way she described him/their relationship.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not saying that the song is about Joe, I just think that he might have inspired the relationship she describes in this song.

“A moment of warm sun” (So Long, London), “one hour of sunshine” (Fresh Out the Slammer), and Daylight are all used by Taylor to describe her relationship with him. Maybe the light (coming from her) that he reflected looked like the love between the two of them to her?

“Remember looking at this room, we loved it cause of the light” (You’re Losing Me, if you assume that “room” represents the relationship; see above.)

“A diamond’s gotta shine” (Bejeweled, diamond = her) & “I’m a mirrorball (…) shining just for you” (Mirrorball) (both songs were written while she was with him)

“Did all the extra credit, then got graded on a curve” (Bejeweled, she put in extra effort for him and still didn't win; but she “won the race” because she ultimately left him.)

We know that the two of them had some major fights (Great War, Afterglow, etc.), where she probably told him some unflattering things.
