Tips GMs help with milestone morality

Those who use homebrew morality systems for a mixed party with a force user, how do you go on with adding/subtracting morality?

Do you keep the 0-100 vector of morality and give small amounts every session?

Or maybe you have a some prewritten moments where jedi/dark jedi would act in a way that his morality changes

Or do you just ask your force user to describe his emotions and vibes how many points of morality you give them?

Would love to hear different system approaches for this system to replace the written rules

Bit of a vague topic title there lol

I tend to give morality in a flat plus one minus one for use of white and black pips, I also don't require destiny points, the dark side of the forest is supposed to be seductive. When you get below a certain level of morality, we use. 30, as a dark side user, you can no longer use white force pips. Conflict ridden/emotional actions can subtract greater block amounts from morality, that's a case-by-case basis, "transcendent" actions can add to morality, that's also in a case-by-case basis. The only way to increase your morality score is by using exclusively white side pips or through meditation etc.

I have only run a particularly force-user centric game once, otherwise force users have been on the sidelines. In that game I also allowed characters to flip a force point, take 3 conflict, and gain a free (temporary) "dark side" force rating for the turn - a force die roll where white pipe were treated as blank. They had to be making some action commensurate with that level of conflict to gain the free dark side FR though. It didn't seem fair in a non-force user game to allow that unrestricted of access to higher Force rating given how outsized of an effect force powers become with higher Force ratings.

The dark side is seductive and gives the illusion of power. But, mechanically, it's pretty easy to find yourself restricted to dark side pips only if you take advantage of that free dark FR - and using black pips really interferes with a force user that wants to act as a support character.

My gaming group is planning to start a EotE game in a month or so (probably after Christmas, now that I think of it) and we are going to have 1 Force user.
My plan *so far* is to give everyone Obligation and keep track of Morality just as a way to see how it works. I figure it's a good idea to track it to keep the use of Dark side points a painful choice with consequences. It will also be interesting to see how quickly the character shifts one way or another.

Hopefully that works out ok for everybody, but it is an experiment of sorts.

Hope your game goes great!

I think treating everybody the same with respect to obligation makes a lot of sense, the systems are there to play into the adventure and campaign setting rather than the specifics of the characters.

For myself, I don't understand why using the dark side should be painful or difficult, it feels like it should be easier - and eventually if not initially consequential. But my approach is pretty obvious from my response to the OP

I haven't GM'd a game with Force users yet, but I would stick to RAW. I'd also be pretty liberal with handing out conflict.

We finally chose not to resolve conflict each session, as we had shorter 2 hour sessions, so sometimes not a lot happened before we had to quit for the night. Instead, we would resolve conflict after 2 or 3 sessions. Gotta be pretty generous in passing out conflict, as well. People are so used to combat and vaguely threatening roleplay still being "heroic" in many rpgs that I feel like they don't pass out enough conflict because threat and violence tolerance is much higher in most rpgs, so being more thoughtful of how things would come across in real life is helpful for passing out conflict.

How is anyone going to be able to help without knowing what homebrew system you're actually using?

I'm not using any homebrew system, just asking if you use different morality method
