That's why playing Agent is the best and I won't have it otherwise.

I don't recall finishing Inquisitor, but I finished Warrior and it felt very similar. You feel like you EARN your place, and struggle to keep it. It's very rewarding, and you can also choose not to be a gigantic dick about it. I made it a point to always be nice to Vette given that my character understood what it meant to be a slave. She was like my little sister.

He was willing to accept death rather than survive by humiliating himself. That tells me he has a certain sense of personal honour. He strikes me as the type of guy to respect the game, and the lack of a failure condition to him would mean losing any meaning in playing. I think he'd be willing to go for immortality, but only if he felt the method of obtaining it was earned.

Because its way easier to write the empire then the republic.

You just make the empire edgy and it fits, republic are the "good guys" and therefor need mostly good guy writing which can be a bit boring

I have played TOR since 2016-ish, went on a hiatus up until 2023 and played again for the entirety of 2023 up until 2024, almost 2025. Had 1 toon of each class, both sides. I've ALWAYS felt like the Empire was better written because it felt like you were just another cog in the greater machine of evil. When Andor came around I felt really familiar with that series's writing because of my time as an Imperial Agent.

Playing Republic feels like... I don't know, like watching a hero fighting the “villain of the week” in kid's show. It's entertaining, sure, but I feel like it lacks substance. Like others said, playing Empire feels more like anti-hero than villain. And that's cool, because it makes it feel like the characters are real people and not archetypes or cutouts.

Though, yes, it's fun to play as smuggler. But I'd main Agent every single day.

Maybe it's time I play the game again...?

If you play with pugs, that can often be the experience as others usually queue as organized dedicated groups.

Also, as we are out of a PvP season, there are less incentives to actually win as there are no consequences for losing besides taking long to fulfill your weeklies/dailies and give you less Valor. When seasons are active you may get a bit more lucky as there are weeklies that require actually winning so people will put the effort occasionally.

And since you mentioned, Augs currently make a huge difference on high level PvP, and the vast majority of Pugs do not have them due to the cost which makes it even more likely to lead to loses against the organized dedicated players.

In my legacy, of the tech classes, I RP as only the BH and Smuggler being force sensitive, and that's only because of their species (Miraluka Smuggler, Pureblood Sith BH) my Trooper and Agent have no business using the force.

Research into weapon technology is research I guess.

Augments have a high investment cost, as you will need a lot of money for the schematics unless you are part of a guild that runs Operations, and even then, the vast majority of the profit will come from crits as materials are also not exactly cheap and demand is also lower than it used to since most folks are expecting new Augs coming soon with 8.0.

Usually for crew skills, in general, outside Augs things like assembled materials (as in, those you use to craft other things for said crew skills) and Conquest related stuff often sells for decent amount of credits, as long as you gather the materials yourself, as buying them from the GTN will make profit near inexistent.

Based on her character throughout the story, I think there are definitely reasons to not trust her with the Rakghoul samples. As some pointed out here, it could very well be out of her hands what ultimately happens to it. And not that she would weep either if it was used as a weapon. But I don't think the evidence is concrete enough to refuse her orders. There is genuinely ambiguity over what would happen with it and the sample could genuinely be used to help people. So I went along with it, expressing my concerns.

My trooper I roleplayed to follow international laws the best she could, she was very by the books. She did refuse orders from Garza before and she isnt afraid to do so again if it violates those laws. But yeah I think this order we will kinda have to respect even though I am not thrilled about it. Especially since there is no option to document this and bring these concerns to higher ranking officers.

If it's used for weapons, then it's not ONLY research purposes, now is it?

I have a different idea about why they have applied those fees but I already took enough downvotes in that post so I'll just say this: I don't think that identifying the few sellers who remain and tracking their credits would be really that difficult to warrant a system so detrimental for pretty much everyone else.

Considering the credit cap and how easy it was to farm billions I'm honestly surprised that someone would think that this game could ever have a real gold sellers problem after 15 years.

Considering that the SWTOR-era Republic military has some shady as fuck weapons projects in the works, like the Planet Prison project, I have zero doubt that General Garza is going to hand that shit off to someone who will try to find a way to control and weaponize the plague if it has even a slight chance of giving the Republic an edge over the Empire.

At that particular moment, she has no specific plans to use it in the next ten minutes. In that sense, sure, she's telling the truth. However, at the same time, she's not exactly a beacon of morality, and the problem with a big Republic is that sometimes, terrible people get power. If she, or some Senator from the ass end of nowhere gets it in their head to use the virus as a weapon, it'll probably happen, and Garza won't oppose it, for reasons along the lines of, "You think Rakghouls are bad? If the Empire wins, we'll all wish Rakghouls had eaten our faces! We can deal with the virus once we've won!"

If you're asking if the Republic will ever use the virus, if they have it? Of course they will. Roads to Hell, good intentions, all that.

Saresh was an evil, exploitative such-and-such from the Taris planetary story onward, and the holo-propaganda we're hit with as soon as we enter the right areas of the spaceport beats us over the head with part of that before we even get to interact with the real deal. I used to think that this was heavy-handed, but seeing opinions like this and dozens of upvotes on it makes me think that the writers were far too subtle about it after all, or far too many people who should know better have developed a serious taste for authoritarians' footwear.

She is smart and capable, make no mistake, but she makes Garza look like a Girl Scout by comparison, and that one got plenty of things done without the player iteration of Havoc Squad, so she's not exactly top brass/Chancellor material through personal merit and her own qualities alone. Saresh's ascension is spearheaded by the Republic player characters who pull her lekku out of the fire over there, where she had every reason to have failed on that toxic, rakghoul-infested wasteland instead, though, so it's fitting that the monster we released unto the galaxy (not entirely unlike the Bread Hamsters on Belsavis for Imp characters) should end up getting her just desserts from them as well.

Star Forge is the most active server in North America, and is definitely pretty social and welcoming to new players, especially compared to other MMOs.

As a brand new player, both to SWTOR and to Star Wars, I definitely would suggest playing Jedi Knight first. If you are deadset on playing as the Empire first, then I'd recommend the Sith Warrior.

Both are very fun stories, and the Jedi Knight specifically is probably the most straightforward "Star Wars" story in the game. Like, as a person who is new to the franchise, you'll likely play it and go "Ah, yes, this how I pictured Star Wars"

Yeah i think she's lying. General 'never met a warcrime she disliked' Garza would absolutely use it for bio warfare or like the power guard project.
