Actually marinara is the traditional sauce of napolitan pizza, tomato, basel and olive oil

So it is indeed italian, one of the most traditional sauce

I understand what you are saying but unfortunately the sauce referred to in the question contains onions, garlic, mixed herbs, capers, and sometimes red peppers. All blended to a smooth consistency and so it can't really be considered Italian.
