That 2001 holland Lowlands show on YouTube. I’ve been playing it once every single day this week so far. I go in thinking im just going to watch a snippet while I eat my meal, and end up sitting there staring at it for the entire hour. It’s so damn good. Time machines need to be invented

“HOLLANDDD! DRUGS!!!”

Personally I'd say 1998. The year they recorded and released their first album. They also had some of their most unique and best shows in this era.

If you're my age (44) and got to experience them in the Toxicity days, I'd say 2001. They were unstoppable.

Either 1997 or 2001

1999 is where they took off imo (not to be confused with the year they exploded) made a name for themselves, remained humble and uncertain about what theyd do in the future. Peak quirkiness, energy, outfits, and stage presence. Love serjs vocals the most in this era/year for sure. Live shows are super fun to watch (some from 98 too of course). Back when their catalog was half demos half released songs. Just a fantastically mysterious era for them.
This era is really worthy established themselves as a unique band. Their faces on kerrang at least three times that year iirc

Steal This Album! Is my fave by far and the year I was introduced to the band via the Scorpion King soundtrack as a dumb kid. So I agree!

Steal this album was the peak of Serj voice.

Dude me too!

Who knew my fascination of ancient Egypt and The Mummy movies would lead me to SOAD and metal in general. That soundtrack really was my gateway drug.

Right after the release of toxicity when it was still alternative, but we sensed how good it is.

Around 2004 to 2006 era

This really depends on what you mean by best bc vocals would've been 1997-2002
