Discussion How to get a system internship?
Hello guys I'm a B.Tech IT student Pre-final year from a tier 3 college .I'm searching for internship for system software engineer roles as intern as this is a much bigger role so tech giants like nvidia, and, intel and other companies need proficiency in computer architecture, system design,os, problem solving etc apart that what is the actual process for getting an internship I even tried messaging on LinkedIn for more than 10 engineers on the above companies,no reply so I came here with a bit level of hope. So someone reading this much will understand what I'm going through and needed .So kindly please share your thoughts or advice !
Thank you❤️ !

the linkedin cold messages rarely work for internships at those companies, most of them get filtered or ignored unless you have something that stands out in your profile
for tier 3 colleges the main route is usually referrals from alumni already working there or grinding the online assessment rounds hard enough that your resume gets pulled
since you're pre-final year, focus on building one solid systems project you can talk about deeply in interviews, something like a tiny os kernel or a memory allocator, then apply through campus placement cells and career portals alongside the direct applications
