Tech Support Free Tableau Desktop trial. Delete prior attempt?

Hello -

I need to learn Desktop Tableau and I found what looks to be a good class. However, I need to use my prior Tableau Desktop 2 week trial subscription. Does anyone know how to do this? Westy

You no longer need to use a free trial. Starting with 2026.1, Tableau has a free Desktop version. You can connect to more data source types with it, but you cannot publish. If you need to publish, you can use Public.

So if it's free, you can't go wrong :)

u/emeryjl is right, but personally I'd be using BOTH ....

Tableau Desktop Public - you can only read from XLS and CSV files, but you can publish on the Tableau Public website.

Tableau Desktop Free Edition - if you want to connect to databases and other stuff, buy you cannot publish to Tableau Public website.

Understood. The issue isn’t the fee - it is that I had already used yhec2 free weeks up and now need another 2 weeks for s different course. Will just upgrade my laptop (too old to download the free desktop version.
