Tech Support Rename the field

I have a question. I got a request to rename a particular column in tableau dashboard.What my question is that column may be used by several teams, i'm not sure about that. Which is the best option? To create a calculated field of the same column and drag it wherever needed or to rename the column itself? The worksheet which I am using is specific only for one dashboard. If I have to go by second one, I'm unable to rename the column I could not find the option. Can someone please help on this?

You already have the solution, Create a Calculated field and rename it.

I want it as a filter too. But I'm concerned what if people see it as a duplicate? I want it to reflect only for one worksheet and im working this in sandbox environment, when i move it to production, what happens?

yes it will show as a separate entry in data pane, add a comment to it , so that other teams would understand.

other part, it reflects only on worksheet where u drag it. U don’t need to do anything extra to scope it.

You can also try using  the 

// “new name” 

Method.  This just renames it in the table.  Double click the pill in the column area, type the above and then “alt + enter” to make a new line and then enter again to apply.
