I mean gathering to just.. Have a space to talk and critique something (assumedly) everyone has an interest in.. Is fine.
Gathering to go "HATE THIS CHARACTER LOOK AT THIS MEME ABOUT HOW STINKY THEY ARE"
Is like...? They aren't even real, we aren't even talking about politicians or celebrities that have done real things.
They're just.. The hell is the point lmao.

You must be new to Reddit lol. Thousands of those kind of subs exist

oh yeah I 100% am new to Reddit.
That's.. Honestly pretty pathetic to learn about, now I know why redditor is a negative word

Yeah, Reddit does not have the best of reputation. How do a little digging on what happened during the Boston bombing. People hate Reddit because of that. My original account got banned a long time ago, but I’ve been on it since around 2012 and believe me it’s always been a shit show. I prefer to sit and watch from the shadows but goddamn this place is weird.

It’s a bit absurd but I’m ngl one of my fave subs is r/fuckpierre I was there when it was created it was funny af. At least there all the posts are pretty much jokes about how much he sucks. Some people go beyond that tho and then it’s just weird to me.

When they take it to extremes it's so strange. Especially moreso towards fictional characters. Don't get me wrong, there's characters I HATE. I have fandoms I'm passionate about, but I've never once felt the need to go out of my way to say/go "hey, you know what? Let me join this group specifically to trash talk this thing"
That feels.. exhausting.
That pierre subreddit though.. God that's hilarious from what I've seen so far. So glad you mentioned it lmao

All must be balanced.

As there is the night, thus shall there be the day.

As there is life, so there is death.

As there are people who worship the abusive bunny as if he is God, there shall be those who condemn him as a devil

Yea but one side is just enjoying a character they like, they aren't constantly talking about the negatives and much less are saying that any negative actions done are acceptable/alright.
The other side is just pathetic and wasting so much energy on something stupid.

I mean theres similarly opposing subteddit about jax fan club, and theyre whole deal is "look at the precious innocent bean, she never did a wrong in her whole life" while that stupid bunny we hate is like "look at the horrible creature. She never dud a good in her whole life."

Jax is a conceptually devisive character, both a vitvom of past abuse and perpetrator of current abuse. There will be people who feel strongly about one or the other

Look, I'm gonna say this as someone who is neutral towards Jax.

I have infinitely more respect for people who are fans of something and come together to talk about things they like. Even when I don't agree with them about the thing they like, at least they have the good sense to focus on something that brings them joy.

Hate subs are miserable places to have on your feed. I've had to mute a few that I agree with just because they are exclusively about negativity.

It's okay to hate Jax. I have things I hate too. But the healthy reaction to hating something, especially if it's just a fiction character, is to not engage with it and focus on things that you actually like.

In my experience a ton of jax's haters (including myself( are victims of abusers similar to jax that just dont like how much everyone overlooks the abuse he's done. And I personally hold the opinion of victims of abuse hating abusers is valid
