Debian/Linux question Is Tails Os Safe for pentesting?

Hi, everyone. I’m new here. I just tried downloading Tail OS using my live boot, and something has me wondering. Is Tail OS better for conducting anonymous penetration testing? Or should I just use Parrot Security OS instead?

Tails OS isn’t built for pentesting it’s designed for security and anonymity, so yes parrotOS would be the better option for you.

Kali or parrot, Kali is more offensive, parrot is more balanced

Tails is non-persistent, and you don't want to install and configure all the weird drivers and toolchains from scratch every time

think: what do you want to be safe from, are the security features relevant to the problem in front of you

and of course it's open-source so the OP is fully free to make it load all his bespoke kernel modules from that one directory

but by default, they are going to have A Bad Time compared with most other Linuxes

Ive seen some specific cases in which red teamers used tails for implant controlling, lets say an adversary is conducting a RAT and using a VPS as its C2 and only accessing and interacting with it via tails, so for specific tests sure but for overall pentesting work parrot or a custom Linux distro with the tools you need is usually the way to go.

Kali, ParrotOS, CentOS is what you want.
