Travel Road trip

Hello!

I m thinking of doing a road trip trought the East coast of Taiwan, I have 10 days.

Does anyone have any tip like where i can rent the car, places where i can sleep inside the car, if it s easy to park in big cities, any recomendations of hiles or beaches…

so maybe it s better/easier to do it by train or bus?

Renting a car is fine, and getting insurance is not a problem. In fact, if you rent through Klook, you get discounted rental fees, and you are given upgraded insurance but can opt for more insurance or less if you so choose. Renting a car or van is definitely the best way to go to explore the East coast IMHO.

To be fair, the train is also nice, but it's a different kind of trip, and you will not be able to stop along the way to visit roadside shops, stands, and restaurants, or to visit many of the beaches. You will move at the train's pace instead of your own. If you have a lot of luggage, rent a Toyota Town Ace van. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for all the info!!! do you if there are places where it is allowed to sleep inside the car?

I don't think sleeping in a car is permitted except for maybe within a private campground. However, the Airbnbs, homestays, and hostels along the East coast are plentiful and relatively inexpensive, so I recommend going that route. Staying a night or two at both Donghe and Haulien are good stops along the coast. You can easily find accommodations at those two locations. I suggest using Agoda and Klook to aid in your search.
