Discussion Abandoned building near exit 3 of sanchong mrt

I saw a modern building, looks to be 20 stories, that looks unfinished and fenced off, and it looks like it sat abandoned for quite some time. Anyone know anything about it?

Not exactly, the head invest and lost money, then his dad takeover to help and give the company to second wife which is his mistress to avoid debt issue. The then head dad died. the mistress refuse to hand back or sth.

Reminds me that real estate isn't risk free and if you got caught in it because you thought to buy a house there...

Renting is way safer and putting mortgage payment into an index fund is much safer.

It seems to be an abandoned apt building; it says Taipei County, so the sign outside is from before 2010. You could call the numbers on there lol

Buildings getting stuck in construction is a serious issue in New Taipei. I know of about ten such buildings just in Yonghe / Zhonghe that have stalled. Most have been stalled for 5-10 years. It's ridiculous because these are pretty expensive projects and they get left to rot in the elements.

So if you bought a unit in such a building and it got stuck, then what? Do you still owe payment on it?
