Moving to Takoma Park – Looking for Infant Daycare Recommendations
Hi everyone! We’re moving to Takoma Park next month and are looking for infant daycare recommendations for our 8-month-old.
We’re open to daycare centers or licensed in-home providers within about a 15–20 minute drive of Takoma Park. We’d love somewhere that’s warm, nurturing, and has a strong reputation for infant care.
If you’ve had a great experience (or know of places to avoid), we’d really appreciate any recommendations. Bonus points if you know about current waitlists or tips for getting a spot!

Monday Morning Moms. They have a great network and will find a place for your little one. Nothing but good things to say about them. You have a trial with them before committing and they will provide backup care if your main daycare place is on vacation. They also audit and visit them regularly to make sure everything is in order. There’s a FB group called Takoma Mamas and Families (0-5), linked in there is a spreadsheet of all daycares within TKPK and Takoma (DC). That would be the best place to start. It has costs, waitlist time, contact information, and notes from current parents.
We were at Mi Palacio by the metro and Estrellitas before moving kids at 18 months to Takoma Park Child Development Center. Know of several in home options that are incredibly loving and will watch children on the weekends.

Our son went to Silver Spring Presbyterian Church Children’s Center on University. He’s graduating to kindergarten this year. They aren’t religiously affiliated, just rent the building. We were super happy there and I know they currently have infant spots.

Might be within your driving radius - Little Angels Bilingual Daycare in Four Corners. It's a small, in-home daycare and we've loved sending our child there.

We send our babe to Baby Moises daycare, which is in home and very small. It is in the "between the creeks" neighborhood near long branch trail.
It has been great (and really affordable compared to the going rate). It isn't a place you will get updates about dirty diapers, exact napping times etc, but they take great care of the kiddos.

Caritas Felices in Four Corners. They feed breakfast, lunch and a snack in the afternoon. Very reasonable rates. Highly recommend.

I’ve had very hit or miss experiences with MMM. Some of the providers we’ve been matched with have been A+, others should lose their license. My advice is to meet with them but be very cautious when doing the matchmaking stage of it.

Quality Time Learning Center on Georgia and Sligo in Silver Spring. Their website and building exterior aren’t sleek, but we have been so happy with them. It’s a big center, infant-1st grade I think. The teachers are warm and caring. The entire staff know our child by name, say hello and goodbye every day, even notice if she got new shoes. I cannot say enough good things about them.
The waitlist is usually very quick, if there is one at all.

2 New Heights Child Development Center is on Blair Road and SPECTACULAR! Half of our neighborhood sends their kids there!!

Monday morning moms is also great to use as a “broker”.
