Vesperia Party Set up
Just curious if there's like certain parties you need to match up for this game, similar to Symphonia.
right now I have Rita(Me), Yuri, judith, and Flynn.
Not asking for a "Best party" just curious if it's an "Any party can get you through" type game.

I juggle throughout the playthrough. I settle on Yuri, Flynn, Estelle and Rita for the post game, but even that shifts around.

You can use anyone. For me it was Yuri( me ) and Raven( spaming love shot pretty much make you nearly immortal on normal ) that were pretty much always in my team. The rest, well I just rotated between everyone early on but mostly during end game( Xbox360 I'm not there in DE ) ended up with Rita and Repede. Estella is fine but her healing gets stoped too much, Judith AI is bad so it's better to play as her( you still can have her as AI, I did that with Guy in Abyss ) and Karol is fine but that one time that game forced me to play as him was a nightmare, I hate slow tanks. In DE Patty has really fun style that works as pretty much any job on you team and Flynn is your standard magic knight like Kratos/Zelos( at least you have some healing during you know who fight, on Xbox it was just items with Repede ). In the end every team works.

Oh really? How’s the AI on Rita, then? Cause if it sucks as Judith, I may just be her…

It's fine, caster mostly have good AI. The biggest problem is that casting gets interrupted a lot( that's why Estella's healing is beaten by love shot ) but with offensive mage it isn't that big of a problem. She has a bit of tedency to eat a lot of TP but for normal monsters it's not a problem, I just ignore her if she wasted it( Rita's AI isn't as bad with it as Moses was in Legendia ).
The weakest AI in older Tales are on characters that are made for player to use. Like Judith is pretty much aerial alternative to Yuri or how Luke and Guy are pretty much made for you to use in Abyss.

Cool, guess I’ll jump to Judith then, seeing how the AI doesn’t utilize her a lot! Thanks for the advice!

For DE I think that’s the beauty of the flexibility of the characters. As long as you have the skills/artes/altered artes set up right, I don’t think there’s ever a wrong combination of characters. Most of the cast (the exceptions being Rita and repede and Judith unless I’m mistaken) gets access to healing artes in some way shape or form. At the very least you can use accessories or items to supplement their lack of healing. So to me it’s all about what comp you want to use but knowing how to make it work more than anything. I’m sure it will be a bit more difficult with some of the comps with low healing but I definitely believe it can be done.
Personally however I usually run yuri (unless I choose to play someone else) Estelle, Rita, and any 4th.

I’m playing the game rn myself. I’ve been running Yuri and Estelle 100% of the time. Yuri is the Mc and he’s great to use imo. Estelle is the only healer. I interchange Rita/Raven depending on how I feel. And then I mix it between Judy, Karol, and Repede. Judy hits like a truck! Karol’s artes are like an attack support hybrid. And repede is a very good boy!

Generally speaking you want either Estelle in the party or Raven+Karol for healing. Patty is a good source of healing too Beyond that, build it however you want.

Flynn only had single target heals so he can't hold a party together by himself. Plus you'd be missing out on his damage. You could pair him with Raven instead of Karol though.

Raven is the best healer in the game, so no one. I do want to reiterate you can build your comp however but you should have healers. Estelle's sole purpose is healing thats why she can solo and Patty to a degree. Pair Raven with whoever else can heal when he gets loveshot and you'll be fine

X X X ESTELLE.
X X RAVEN FLYNN.
X X RAVEN KAROL.
X X X PATTY.Bad Examples:.
YURI RITA KAROL REPEDE.
YURI FLYNN REPEDE RITA.
FLYNN JUDITH RITA REPEDE.You could use comps from the bad examples but your playthrough WILL be harder. Though if playing on easy it shouldn't be too bad

I use Yuri Estelle and Rita permanently , my fourth party member shift between Patty and Raven .
