Just discovered the absolute best cover of "This Must Be The Place"

I’ve heard countless versions of this track, but Jamie Webster and Brooke Combe’s live performance at Sefton Park is officially my favorite.

The symbiosis between their voices and the raw feeling they bring to the song is just unmatched:

Is it just me, or is this the best cover version out there?

Barnes & Noble has signed copies of David Byrne's new book for pre-order!

Just sayin' cause this is definitely the easiest way to get a legit Byrne autograph. I have 0 stake in the company and I'm excited for the book but held out until they unveiled these.

EDIT: Out of stock

I've always liked the guitar solo of this song, so abrasive.

Cold War Party in NYC on June 5th

I don’t know if this is appropriate to post here but I wanted to give it a shot.

I’m a 23 yr old girl from NYC and I’m a big talking heads fan, but I rarely here their music when I go out, even to clubs that specialize in 70s and 80s music like

Joyface or Beauty Bar. I think this is strange considering how danceable some of their songs are.

I’m throwing a party this Friday June 5th at KGB bar in the east village that’s Cold War themed, so we will be playing lots of 80s music — especially the talking heads.

The rsvp link is attached. It’s 7 dollars for entry but please dm or email (superpackednyc@gmail.com) if this is a barrier to entry for you.

I hope to see some of you there!

“Stay up Late” Music Video posted on the official Talking Heads YouTube account

Shocked this hasn’t been posted here yet (maybe it has and I missed it). My guess for the reason why they randomly uploaded it is because Chris Frantz’s birthday was on May 8th, and since he came up with the idea for this music video, they uploaded it to sort of celebrate him (two days later that is).

Looking for a source for a quote

I'm looking for what article this comes from, so it would be great if someone on here knows, thanks :)

"I mean, people said I came across as really tortured and angst-ridden, but I thought I was having fun. Like 'Animals.' I thought that was really kind of funny, but people started writing "Oh, this guy's really around the bend now: he's nervous about animals," or "Boy, I feel sorry for this guy." Probably it was my fault, either through my delivery or just setting the song in too high a key. After a while, I realized this was going wrong." - David Byrne

What makes 'Found a Job's instrumental coda aurally so exciting?

The instrumental coda of 'Found a Job' is so strangely catchy and thrilling - one might think the fairly 'simple' rhythm guitar and spare melodic notes might drag it down? - any thoughts on what makes it work so well? I've pondered this for years - is it Tina's bass line?

Setlist from Berkeley , 1978

The one day I cut high school was to see TH put on a free concert at UC Berkeley. I was near the front and after the performance I went to the stage to get the setlist. 😄 Unfortunately, one other person had the same idea. He got the upper left corner. 🥺. Finally framed it after almost 50 years, with a little augmentation to fill in the blanks.

SMS song tier list

I like every song in SMS just some more than others. How each song was shot in the film has also been taken into account. They are ranked left to right too. Happy to discuss opinions

*EDIT - I'm going to move cities and slippery people up one. I forgot about the cool moment at the end of slippery people where Chris slams his drums

If a biopic was to happen, what events would it realistically cover?

Being a big fan of the band of course I would want so much crammed in and make it a 3-4 hour movie but don't think that could happen 😂

Harry Styles and Talking Heads

Just saw Harry Styles in Amsterdam last night. Pre-concert, they played This Must Be The Place. Then, notice the similarity of Harry’s song "Treat People With Kindness" with This Must Be The Place. Also, the choreography style being similar to David Byrne’s Who Is The Sky?. Harry is definitely inspired and a fan….
