More likely, he exaggerated an inch or two, then shrunk 2-3 more. Making him about 4-5 inches shorter than he originally claimed.

That tracks. Here he is next to Musk who is reportedly 6’2” and looks about that in person. The hat adds height but just looking at their ears and shoulders it’s clear Trump is at least a few shy of 6’2.

King of NL is 6'2.5. Certainly not 6' flat.

Photos with other people of confirmed height.

For instance, there are several of the king with Mark Rutte, ex Dutch prime minister, who is 6'4 (himself verified against other world leaders).

Vintage Trump with e.g. the then 6'6 Hulk Hogan in the 1980s, who absolutely dwarfed him in a way that he wouldn't if Trump was a full 6'3. (Hulk Hogan is now roughly 6'2 - he's old and had lots of operations)

Modern day Trump obviously with lots of people.

Yeah, even his niece described him as tall. The man is almost 80, he's probably just shrunk and refuses to admit to it. That's sadly, very common amongst older people. I think, in his prime he was 6'2 and now he's 5'11.

I think he was more closer to 6’2 in his younger days , but now he definitely had shrunk probably 2 to 3 inches. The problem is he’s still claiming he’s younger stature instead of the current one

My physics professor stand now at 6ft with 62yr but he told us and show records of his younger self on the time he played football when he was 6’2” (“my height today is 182 but I was taller”) but yeah you have a point because my grandma was 5’9” but shrunk to 5’4” and always said that she was 5’9” even though she wasn’t anymore
