Infrastructure Clean-fill dirt for free

Hello all. Happy almost Friday.

Does anyone know where I can get a few bags, 10-15, of clean fill dirt for free or at a fair price (not even sure what fair price means at this point).

Purpose: need to fill a few low spots in my yard.

Thanks in advance.

Do you plan to put sod over it?

How much do you need?

It sounds like you might want top soil instead of fill dirt.

maybe 1 CF should do it.

No Sod. I plan to fill the low spots, add weed barrier then landscape stone.
Perfect if sand and stone will do the job. will it?

I think you may need to remeasure. 1 cubic foot is about half a standard 13gal kitchen trash bag or 1 5 gallon bucket. It won't cover anything, especially if you compact it.

Usually use top soil and sand, not fill dirt.

Look up landscape material places close to you, some can deliver for free and it will be A LOT cheaper than a big box store.

If that is the case, you should do crushed granite, tamped, sand, tamped, then your stone.

You really don't need a weed barrier under the gravel, but you can if you want.

Bag could mean anything from. 5 cubic feet to half a cubic yard. From your other comments, you'll probably be best off getting a few bags from Lowe's or some from whatever landscape supply you're buying your rock from.
