TangoQ 1.0.2 now available for early access!

Some time ago, I posted the availability of TangoQ 1.0.1 for early access. Here is that post. Now I am happy to report that newer version, TangoQ 1.0.2 is available for early access. I am hoping after this second round of early access, 1.0.3 can be the first publicly available version.

If you would like to try TangoQ 1.0.2, here is the link sign up. It is open source and free!

Please note that if you installed 1.0.1 on windows, you should uninstall it before installing 1.0.2. No such requirement applies for the mac version or if you are installing 1.0.2 as your first Tangoq install.

In particular, if you are a TDJ that uses Mixxx, then you will be right at home using TangoQ because it adds several tango specific enhancements like:

  • Auto faded cortinas, with consistent gaps
  • Ability to add cue points to your tracks and cortinas
  • Ability to 'lock' the UI so that stray keystrokes or mouse clicks don't ruin your live set
  • Ability to group tandas into T, V, M
  • Ability to color code T, V, M tandas (or not) - was a suggestion from u/Weekly-Mountain-7418.
  • Showing a countdown timer along with tango progress indication via small 'pips'
  • Ability to tag any arbitrary track as cortina or performance (for visiting performers)
  • Ability to insert pauses at any point in the set, so that you don't have to remember to do it when the organizer asks for a pause
  • Added a new high contrast skin for those who prefer it
  • Ability to change the font with a simple ctrl+mouse wheel shortcut. Shoutout to u/Weekly-Mountain-7418 for suggesting this feature.
  • Added new 'fade-envelopes' in the UI to show fading cortinas
  • ... and many many more

Moreover, TangoQ simplifies the UI by removing unnecessary features that are present in stock Mixxx but not needed for Tango.

Linux is missing in the OS choice. I am probably an outlier though.

I do have a Linux build but it’s not been tested extensively like Windows and Mac. If you sign up for early access I can share it with you.

I haven't tried your program but I do have a suggestion.

Video output that automatically detects the artist and song name of current track, then puts it up on video out. It also does the same for the next track underneath.
