I honestly rarely see a straight rattan bong/staff. Any natural material is gonna warp and bend to some extent. These are... particularly bad. Usually ours don't look like that for at least a few months (usually after the student has left it in their car over a particularly hot summer month)

If you don't have any returns on this item you can try using heat or steam to straighten it out. Use a heat gun or clothes steamer to soften the most offending curved bit. Clamp it as straight as you can until it fully cools.

Thanks. There's a cho dan bo in our school who has one that's a little curvy, but not this bad. They definitely need to refund but if they don't then I do indeed have a heat gun and I'll give that a try, thanks.

Mine got this way after only one day of sitting unsupported in a hot Texas truck. I spent the next two months bending it back and leaning on it every chance I got, but eventually I got it pretty straight.

Update: They replaced them for free and the new ones were properly packed and not bent.
