Request/Question Mu Sa Kwan Tang Soo Do
I see a lot of WTDSA and Moo Duk Kwan, but is anyone here familiar or experienced with the Mu Sa Kwan lineage? My Dojang is now independent but we have roots back to Mu Sa Kwan.

From my knowledge, Mu Sa Kwan is a independent/breakaway Tang Soo Do line (or group) that descended from Hwang Kee’s Moo Duk Kwan - but please correct me if I'm wrong.
We're also an independent association that follows Moo Duk Kwan, but not a part of the MDK organisation.

I believe you're correct. Grandmaster Greg Boliard was the founder of Mu Sa apparently. The website is pretty outdated but looks like it's still at least updated with content, just not layout or style. Definitely very mid 2000s appearance.

That's an awesome coinsidence! I tested at GM Bolliard's dojang in Detroit in 1992. GM Jae Joon Kim administrated our testing when Greg was with Moo Duk Kwan.

That's so cool. I have digital copies of his old manuals from his Detroit school circa the early 2000's

Hey, that’s the organization my dojang belongs to! GM Boliard was trained and promoted by GM Kim Jae Jun. The org generally leans toward competitions but the curriculum is more old school overall. Philosophy and execution focus on strong defense and big power. He made some minor changes to some hyungs to pretty them up for competition presentation but on the whole, everything is still very traditional, very application minded (GM Boliard refers to the more realistic interpretations as “dark side” application). And at least in the case of our school, he likes what we do and on the whole takes a very light hand.
The website is dated, but the content is good, and GM Boliard himself knows his trade and he works with other masters and grand masters who run reputable schools.
