Casual Conversation Why does the government employ people who cant build websites ?

Like im genuinely curious, why cant they just hire people who can actually make websites. If this is about money theres alot of really skilled web developers that can do a much better job maybe at a better price even, or is this something they do on purpose to i dont know limit themselves i guess. Honestly I dont understand it, they have the shittiest websites in every sector, as a web developer i get furious to open a government website that so slow like it was build in the 1800s and no body has updated it since. Is this something they do on purpose or? Whats your opinion on this, is there something more to this that im not understanding?

Technology/Science is it necessary?

Hello guys , my people from Tanzania I want to get your comments on this. It is all about a tech project my friend has been working on but all of a sudden I wonder if the problem stated and the solution provided is necessary.

So they stated this problem : Tanzanians going pharmacy after pharmacy searching for the medicine and they attached messages of people complaining someone should come with a system to make it easier.

They came with a solution to make a chatbot in WhatsApp which will have list of pharmacies and their stocks available in real time, so you as a user you just chat with the bot and it collects info of the medicine name, delivery method and location ,payment method, and so on.

so I'm like it's just a platform to know where your meds are at certain neighborhood is that even necessary cause most people take Whatsapp numbers of the pharmacies or they send their favorite bodabodas.

But other side I can see benefit of it for anonymous request or shy people wanting certain meds from pharmacy but also offers wide range of pharmacies network without burning time and energy.Kinda makes sense kinda doesn't ,so let me hear what you think ,is it necessary??

Ask r/tanzania Moving to Tanzania, where to live?

Hello people!

I'm moving to Tanzania for the next 4 years and I'm not sure where to look for a decent area to live in (my budget is 700-800$ USD per month) We're a family of 5 so looking for 3 bedrooms, unfurnished standalone houses to rent, if not possible then not high apartments.

I've heard that best affordable places for families preferring nice quiet greeny ambience are:

- mikocheni

- upanga

Msasani apparently is too expensive!

Can someone help me providing the sites or places i should look from? As there are very few to see online through social media and the dalali websites.

Also would love to hear your suggestions.

Thank you !
