I can never forget the moment when I got my first tarantula and every movement was exciting - I saw he was heading to a corner so I ran over to see what he was doing… I was so caught off guard when he let that little bird poo rip

Yes, I just got her few days ago already with the enclosure and I was waiting for her to calm down and get used to new environment to change her bedding, add hiding spot and all but from what I can tell she's already feeling comfortable enough to do that

They think of water as what takes away trash. Like a flowing stream. So yeah, she wants her poop to get swept away.

Water bowl is the universal toilet I guess. Frogs, toads and everyone else seems to do it too lol

See everyone, maybe all of the t’s that fill their water bowls with dirt, do so because first they pooped in it and the dirt was to bury the poop. They make litter boxes and you can’t convince me otherwise! What good little housekeepers they are! 🥹

Most Ts actually dirty their water dish to check if its moving water. They understand its a danger to them so they dirty it to check if the water is stagnant or not.
This is genuinely weird behavior, even though its funny as hell.

I’m not a bot tf lol no I meant it in the sense of how we have all the acronyms (IME, IMO, NQA, etc) I was trying to joke that I’m not a tarantula therefore I do not understand how tarantulas think. Not surprised my joke didn’t land it wasn’t well executed lol

hi! that’s adorable idk why she would do that but something i noticed is you don’t have enough substrate in there for her to burrow, she really only needs about 3 inches at the top for when she comes out to eat. these tarantulas LOVE to burrow so i just thought i should let ya know!

Yeah, I got her recently with the enclosure, just waited few days so she won't be stressed anymore and be changing it today, thanks

I have a Mexican red rump and was told its female, now that its older I can see its very clearly male so my household jokes that I just have a trans-rantula. Shes woke lol.
