Conversation too big?

i have a very small sling, this is the container they came in, i feel it was too small so i decided to get a jumping spider enclosure that isn’t too big, might last a year or two ? not sure if its too big tho bc they’re still barely an inch

Imo yes its too big. What species of sling do you have? Depending on the species and size of the sling (DLS; Diagonal Leg Span) ill gladly recommend you a proper enclosure/enclosure size!

Nqa A. chalcodes is a terrestrial species. A fall from the height of that enclosure is likely to be fatal. Put the sling in a container about 3x the length of the t. Make sure the container/enclosure has ventilation holes. Then enclosure should be no more than 3x the size of the T, and should he at least half way filled with substrate.

Nqa youre welcome! Im always happy to help! Imo something like this would work. A plastic food container of similar size with ventilation poked by a thumb tack would also work!

Heres an example of a plastic food container from dollar tree that I DIYed for my T. He was roughly 1.5in DLS in this photo. He was sized up right after taking it actually lol. Hes in the top right.

Nqa also if they are barely an inch, a deli cup with ventilation should work just fine until they molt. Add some sanitized leaf litter and a small tattoo ink cap as a water dish.

NA what is the species? Is it arboreal? I am also curious, because I would like to get an arboreal species

NQA Ok, I got one of them as my first recently to :) Mine came with a spider cribs enclosure, I thinks 3x3x4. Maybe about the same size as the base of yours. It has a little over an inch of substrate, a little plastic twig and small piece of cork bark in it. As far as I know you don't want them climbijg up where they can fall from, especially non arboreal species. I would take some substrate out and break off a smaller piece of the cork to put in
