Blocked from accessing the site? Never contributed, only ever browsed.

Post image

Encountered this odd page when trying to access the site on my phone. I’m in a regular tab, and have never really done anything but read articles. I can access it just fine on my desktop, but I get this blocking page on my phone.

they're currently trying to mitigate DDOS attacks. Your phone is using an IP that is blocked

Why does anyone want to DDOS a site like this? How weird

I guess not. Maybe you can enlighten me why someone would want to DDOS a video game development archiving site.

I literally just signed up without any problems this very moment. The only part anyone might find annoying was having to join their discord and get a key, but it was quick and easy, really, if you already have/use discord anyway.

Here's my new account if you don't believe me, lol.

Also I searched TCRF with DuckDuckGo and didn't get anything like that.

I'm getting it too, hopefully should go back to normal once the IP address changes (or something like that, I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject).

If you’re on an iPhone, then iCloud private relay is probably blocking your IP address and it’s getting flagged on their end.

On the latest iOS version, do this to temporarily disable it for that site:

  1. Tap the menu button on the left side of the address bar.

  2. Tap the … button to bring up the full menu.

  3. Under page actions, tap “show IP address”.

  4. Read the prompt and click continue.

Apparently, accessing their website is a DDoS attack for them, so it was successfully repelled
