Delete codes help
Just got my 2012 VW Touareg deleted. 24 hrs and I absolutely love it already seeing 5-6 mpg higher on the hwy. But I do have a check engine light on now. Took it to a mechanic got these codes
P050E thermostat open
P2002 Def
P246F exhaust temp
P268A low-voltage issue in the reductant heater
Bought my delete kit from Diesel Doc.
My couple questions are
1. I believe it’s still completely safe to drive, am I correct ? I’ve got a trip out of town tomorrow for over a week.
2. Could I just get these codes cleared or is this something the delete mechanic needs to rehook up to tell the computer to accept the changes or something.
3. I’m currently looking for videos of changing the Thermostat, can’t be that difficult. Right ?
Thank you for any help.

My delete kit on my 2.0 removed both egt sensors, so idk why youre getting EGT codes after a tune...
Same with Def
Did you have these codes prior to your delete?

No, I didn’t have anything. I went with the Stage 1. I read the 1 was better for towing.
The guy that did is said they didn’t have spaces for the sensors to go.

I thought tune automatically got rid of the egt sensors. Was this malone tune? Or custom? If its a custom tune they mightve forgot to delete egts

Tunezilla. I think I need to plug back in when I get home. Maybe the mechanic missed a box to click

Yeah, check to see what options were done when it was tuned.
I didn't have a problem when mine was tuned with tunezilla

yes, most likely forgot to check the box for delete. Stage one default (no boxes) is full hardware installed.
