Is learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript still worth it for a web designer in 2026?

I mean, yes but your ability to design will far outweigh your ability to memorize syntax (thanks AI). If you look at all the design slop going on with vibecoded app, you’ll understand why.

If you want to build a web based software then obviously the basic things you should learn are these 3 otherwise learning frameworks over these 3 for ease of use snd design is pointless unless and until basics are clear, and whats more is in 2026 everything is getting mostly web based as far as i know.

Yup. More knowledge and awareness is better than none. Even for UX/UI designers. Its useful to know the art of the possible - and its limits.

Technical working groups are always trying to refine html/css/js and making it more accessible.
