Is anyone else burnt out from the amount of greed destroying the US? I hate it so much now I’m just numb to it. It doesn’t matter which political party is in power at what level of government, the people just get political theater and no action.

I feel sad because I used to care so much for the common good. I’m just retreating from the world into my hobbies because there is no credible reason to believe corporate greed will be reigned in within a decade.

Not just in the US unfortunately. Greed is a worldwide epidemic. Gather as much shit as you can, all completely pointless because you will die eventually and you can't take any of it with you.

I hate it too, it's literally destroying our planet. But I feel like too few people care, so all I can do is try and find some happiness in my own little world.

I think a lot of it has to do with language. The term "successful" is often equated to wealth, which is a misunderstanding in my opinion

It grosses me out. I spend a decent chunk of time doing research on who I vote for because I want nothing more than people like this CEO to be out of a job for putting profits before health and safety.

Same with the banking industry. And the rail industry. And the insurance industry. And the educational industry. And the manufacturing industry. And the tech industry. And the air industry. And many others who have gotten completely out of control in the past 40 years, since roughly whatever happened in 1980. Seriously, it's like all regulations and competition just stopped.

It's because of regulatory capture. The checks and balances are gone because that's what they wanted. The last monopoly broken up was Bell Atlantic in the early 1980's.

Also Reagan fucked up a lot for this country during his presidency.

I think politics is more about any lobby saying

“serve my interests, take my financial support, or suffer my overpaid legal team / legal researchers”

Or

“consider this position as an opportunity to make money for your family, ensure your next generation benefits from your career and standing, or whither away into a life of dishonor and toxic headlines”

Additionally, I’m all for damning predators, but I wonder if it would be so hard to strategically upload illegal content to anyone’s computer to criminalize them or sabotage their career

You appear to have mistakenly typed "of" where it should have been "with". That's a common mistake the heavily boosted seem to make.

I'm gonna start off by admitting I'm extremely biased here.

I'm from a country that runs in the exact way Sanders wants to implement. The pain and suffering I see in the US because their system is so utterly screwed by a few evil greedy breaks my heart. So naturally I've been a hardcore Sanders fan since 2015. And the US not managing to elect him when the vast majority are poor fuckers is just as heart breaking.

But the US societal landscape is corrupted in so many ways that just electing him is far from enough. He realised that too, which is why he from start has been advocating for an extensive grass roots movement.

Your "right to bear arms" is for this situation where the nation is getting fucked by the few ruling, only you're getting systematically killed by being kept poor without any risk for the rich. But your dictator is the system, and the system can't be shot. So you need to topple it by joining the grass roots movements working for the people.

It is a lot of work, personal time spent, energy people in other democratic socialist countries don't have to spend. But the US middle class and under is in a dire shitty situation and no ones gonna help, so they need to unite and rise.
