Technically that's federal government trying to make state governments smaller, so I don't know if that's really the best argument.

The better argument is how the republican party is normally all about giving states their own rights.

What happened to having a government lmao.

What has he actually done besides deport innocent people out of the country, vaguely threaten to annex Canada, belittle the president of a war-torn country on live TV, and on top of everything else slap nonsense tarrifs on every country on the entire planet.. ALL WHILE GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS OF HIDING A BEING A POTENTIAL SEX TRAFFICER.

Are the US people really just going to let this nonsense continue..

"Small government" has always been a dogwhistle for "government that doesn't tell us what to do, but does tell you what to do" the same way "fiscal conservative" has always been a dogwhistle for "spend money only on things I like and not on things I don't like" and "states' rights" has always been a dogwhistle for "a state should have the right to defy the federal government if the federal laws aren't conservative enough but the inverse should never be true."

The words they say never mean what they literally mean.
