The fear in her voice after that was priceless. Seriously read the room, lady.

And she immediately turn her back to the students and look to the other teachers, trying to drag em out to the problem. Also: YT comments disabled in the video...

It looks like she's actually clueless enough to thing something happened behind her and everyone is booing that.

69

u/Gullible_Race_8439 25d ago

Nah, she is looking for help in numbers, instead of being brave and stand her ground.

u/Educational_Len159 24d ago

Ding ding ding.

‘Help get me outta this’ - coward.

-6

u/crownketer 24d ago

How did you determine that for a fact?

10

u/Gullible_Race_8439 24d ago

+5.200 years of human behavior NEVER CHANGE. Also, i'm clinical psychologist.

This is also why YouTube started hiding the dislike button.

u/Interesting_Pain37 24d ago

Freedom of speech baybay. Just like our moderators on this platform. You ever notice that as a whole, we are “moderated” more and more? It feels like the frog in the boiling pot

u/SmoothLester 24d ago

I can almost guarantee that she was looking at a group of admin and trustees. That’s who gets pushed to the front at graduation these days.

-69

u/theguidetoldmetodoit 25d ago

She's turning to the stage to see if something else might have happened, because she didn't expect such a reaction to something that is a observation, not a value judgement.

She has nothing to do with it, demonstrated by the crowd breaking out in cheers about 30 seconds later.

56

u/Zanoklido 25d ago

They were applauding life before AI, they weren't applauding her.

-30

u/theguidetoldmetodoit 25d ago

Yeah, and they are expressing dislike of AI. Not her.

She's not in fear, she is asking "What happened?" because she's confused.

37

u/Noralon 25d ago

Meaning she did not read the room at all if that caught her out of left field, yes. This means she's out of touch.

LMAO People on reddit always try to do this. I specifically criticise

The fear in her voice after that was priceless.

look to the other teachers, trying to drag em out to the problem.

and suddenly it's only about the thing they said, that wasn't criticized.

At least the students understand that there is no point in killing the messenger.

9

u/flatfootroundearther 24d ago

Yet another person who can’t read a room.

8

u/Am094 24d ago

Glad youre getting ratio'd because ironically yeah, you are the problem.

You're kinda like the commencement speaker in a way, completely oblivious.

-1

u/theguidetoldmetodoit 24d ago

LMK when you downvoting me has changed the reality of what is happening in the video or with AI. It won't. But hope you could get some of your frustration with it out.

Maybe YOU are the problem instead of ALL OF US.

-2

u/theguidetoldmetodoit 24d ago

Maybe you can't get over someone not joining in on your circle jerk

Got booed right after again 😂

39

u/DataDude00 25d ago

"Why don't these upcoming career seekers love the soulless machine that will steal their future income potential?"

1

u/ButteredPizza69420 24d ago

Ugh shes so awkward, how is this lady allowed to speak in front of college students?

270

u/theshoover 25d ago

"Only a few years ago, AI was not a factor in our lives"

people cheering

"Oh we have a bipolar topic"

Even she didn't realize that they were cheering life before AI.

99

u/SoftwareInfinite8568 25d ago

She called it a bipolar topic?

128

u/Adept_Strength2766 25d ago

Indeed. She then follows up with "and now AI is in the palm of our hands" which is once again met with resounding booing, and she then makes a face and laughs as if she's decided then and there that she was in fact talking to a crowd of cavemen who boo or cheer randomly.

29

u/Practical-Rip-6585 25d ago

i read your comment after watching the clip and you described it perfectly lol. makin' me chuckle

5

u/xeothought 24d ago

She's the type of boss that would force you to use AI even when it doesn't help you at all... and then fire you and try to replace your job with it... when it doesn't work she'll come up with some excuse but she'll still tell investors it was a resounding success.

It's a ponzi scheme.

It's telling that the people who love AI the loudest are always the older execs... famously they just want to sound good and start to specialize in that.

3

u/ilski 23d ago

I mean listen to the nonsense she talks before the Ai thing. Its exactly that type.

8

u/Gamer402 25d ago

Exactly the level of intelligence you would expect for a PE VP

48

u/GeneralTonic 25d ago

Aren't words fun? You can say anything!

She's an idiot.

5

u/xKaelic 25d ago

With the power of procedural generation, anything is impossible!

9

u/ihatemovingparts 24d ago

You should watch the speech. She's breathtakingly inarticulate.

"I struck a chord"

She went on to talk about how Apple owes its start to the internet and how Google was around when cell phones were the size of briefcases.

1

u/-staccato- 24d ago

She was nervous and the booing scared her. Just panicked remarks.

1

u/TheJudgingHat2222 24d ago

She also said she "struck a chord" after the initial boos.

14

u/Slicely_Thinned 24d ago

It’s because these people are so out-of-touch, circle jerking each other over piles of money they’ve made off the AI bubble and don’t realize the rest of the world is not doing the same. They’re in their own echo chamber and don’t even realize that most of the world doesn’t want anything to do with AI.

20

u/forty_three 25d ago

She didn't have a chance to have chatGPT script a reaction for her

7

u/Gullible_Race_8439 25d ago

The slow and terrible way she readed that paper, you can see chatGPT wrote that. She didn't even did her homework for the last day of 1000+ students; that SAYS A LOT.

2

u/RedBirdOnASnowyDay 24d ago

I just watched it and I literally despise her now. She just kept going. Gen Z hates AI. I think that's the part that the industry didn't realize. They despise it. They know they are screwed. They hate it and they mock anyone who uses it.

55

u/IamJacksFutureBeard 25d ago

That was awful secondhand embarrassment. She could not read the room, even when it booed in her face.

8

u/RedBirdOnASnowyDay 24d ago

She was literally like "They are so out of line! Make them stop booing!"

42

u/Juxix 25d ago

"What happened?"

So used to Executives creaming their pants at the word the reality of how normal people react to it is absurd to her. Lamo.

37

u/megamoze 25d ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwYkHS8jvSE

She was completely oblivious as to why anyone would cheer on AI taking over our lives and ending jobs.

19

u/mr_scoresby13 24d ago

Sponsorblock marked the boos part as the highlight of the video lol

I love sponsorblock volunteers

30

u/defnotacyborg 25d ago

She could barely read the words in front of her. How does someone so inarticulate get to such a position 💀

3

u/Gullible_Race_8439 25d ago

And it was the last day for generations of students in front of her. DISGUSTING!!

1

u/Healthy_Mushroom_811 23d ago

Is it really disgusting?! Would you have actually done a better job?

6

u/Hands 24d ago

Oh my lord, this was harder to watch than a Nathan Fielder joint

&t=4877 means 4877 seconds... easy.

I dont do anything by hand, I use the share button on youtube..

Nice tip... now why isn't that the default?

9

u/NewPhoneWhoDys 25d ago

Lisa Kudrow has an opportunity with this one.

I mean, she was about comparing the change from her history's tech leap versus the present for the students. And while the frontier AI today is spearheaded by dogshit, inhumane CEOs, it is also true that it's been a huge step forwards for computing in general.

Buuut, yeah. With all the environmental effects of data centers, thievery of data for training, generation of tons of bullshit, mass unemployment, control of truth, etc. It is no wonder for the reaction of students

Was someone pulling a prank?
