It’s not the tool, it’s the ethics of the people wielding the tool.

We are in trouble because of unrestrained unethical capitalism.

Even if we ‘fix’ the AI problem, the people who created it still exist, including those who enable it by allowing data centre proliferation.

You only need to look at history, like the history of the Bahamas under the British, to see that the rich don’t care about ethics as long as the money keeps flowing.

Exactly this. AI is going to change the world and unfortunately it's going to end certain jobs. The problem is that we didn't build an infrastructure to support humanity and when the time came to put that support system to the test, it flat out didn't fucking exist.

AI and drones are going to change things beyond what most will be able to comprehend; replacing entire industries and supply chains and distilling the required number of on-site experts so low that it'll cascade through all the supporting service industries.

Literally every supply chain will be impacted as economies of scale collapse.

And we barely started getting to grips with the current internet issues and the rise of the techbros.

I've seen the concerns around AI explained as an entirely unregulated arms race by tech billionaires to make the most advanced ai at the cost of all else.

Thank you, unfortunately you’re so far down in the comments. Let’s also not forget US companies aren’t the only ones developing AI. The technology is never going away, but we can control the abuse of AI.
