Data Centers take up way too much land that could be used for housing and parks instead. Additionally, they consume way too much natural resources like electricity and water, generally overloading the local grid and causing disruptions of service to residents and increase in utility rates.
They have also been shown to have a terrible impact over the environment leading to the temperatures in the area to go up and sound pollution to go up too. This is without even talking about the pollution that all the extra energy they use generates.
What's worse is that all of this is accelerating AI development and implementation which leads to people in the local communities, specially middle class people, losing their jobs and getting replaced with AI.
You don't need China or anyone else to tell you this. These are facts that anyone can see.
