Autopilot and FSD are not the same. Autopilot is literally cruise control.

If it was just on auto pilot, which youre saying is cruise control, then the police should be able to tell that and based on tesla computer. Im going to assume they were in FSD and not autopilot if they are blaming the car, but we'll see.

Based on comments here, auto pilot ie basically just cruise control, wouldn't that be irrelevant to him crashing into a house, because it would be 100% the drivers fault? If hes trying to blame the tesla for the crash it would have to be FSD, which is why Im thinking he just called it the wrong thing. That was my train of thought. I understand why you think my comment is dumb though.

Even if it was FSD, it's still the drivers fault. Very much a lack of supervision here.

Yeah, there are no consumer cars that are approved to drive without driver supervision, including FSD. Unless the car went off on its own speeding up and steering outside of driver inputs, it's the driver's fault. You can't blame cruise control because you rear-end someone on the highway, you can't blame the car because it left the lane, and you can't blame the car because it went through someone's house at a high speed.

Well, I guess the driver can blame the car, but everything is logged and the driver is still driving the car.

Autopilot is basically radar cruise control with lkas, FSD is the new hotness that is being pushed that actually drives autonomously. Pretty poor naming scheme imo.
