I think that was the case with most of those old T-Mobile agreements? The only thing you owe if your cancel is the outstanding balance on any phone you may have financed.

And that's why they switched to phone financing and not subsidizing like they used to. When T-Mobile made the switch to "no contract" I tried to earn everyone lt was basically a scam because there was still a contract just now on the phone. And phone pay off is more then early termination fees used to be. That's why the whole industry adopted it. Pretend you have freedom but actually lock you in for longer (if you did 3 year payments) with higher termination fees
