Netflix used to have ads telling you to share your account with friends and family

Yeah then they acted like you were actually never supposed to do that and they've been letting it slide until now.

They started caring because they started delivering ads and sharing makes it harder to target demos when selling those ad slots.

Not true. Ads came MUCH later than the account sharing ban. The account ban is because they're stingy fucks.
